Russia's Endgame
Putin openly mocks Russophile Tucker Carlson both during and after the interview.

He prefers Biden win the election over Trump.

Then on a Russian news channel, the talking heads call Trump supporters "not very smart" and rednecks. Media there is pretty controlled. Not North Korea level, but still, surprising something like this is 'allowed.'

If Russia has taught the world anything over the past century, it's that it's great at propaganda. But I'm trying to figure out what their game is here. Obviously a Trump presidency would benefit Russia greatly, and all of Ukraine would be under Moscow control within a few weeks (not to mention other satellite countries would live in fear with Putin getting tacit support from the White House).

Trying to win hearts of American liberals? "See, we aren't so bad and wouldn't help Trump win an election!" (all while hoping Trump wins the election) Feels a little odd, if that's the angle.

RE: Russia's Endgame
Pretty amazing that Tucker Carlson was just in Russia hyping up their way of life just as Putin's biggest political rival, Alexei Navalny, was murdered.

The only thing I can think of is that Putin is wary of appearing too close to Trump as that could be used against Trump in the campaign by the Democrats.

Never listen to what dictators say. It only serves their interests.
