Hasn't it been at least 10 years since the beers were free?

I remember the discussion around the time when they were discussing charging for beer. The Admin was adamant that they just wanted to cover the cost and not look to profit from it. Seems like $2 is in keeping with that initial goal.

Wow! The App State thread has turned into a beer thread!!

Coach or someone who follows teams across America, would you care to offer your opinions on their team? All I know is they have a pretty dang good record.

They defend really well, forcing teams into a lot of midrange shots. Don't shoot the ball great, but are pretty efficient offensively, with a lot of scoring around the basket.

Not a total shock. Considering everything runs through Aramark or a similar vendor, the expenses are much higher than a normal consumer would pay. Then you have the labor charges for set up, cleaning, servers, door monitors, police, etc.

Speaking of drinks, I like having the Starbucks. I get a latte to keep me awake during the game, and I have enough energy to do Ice Cream & Cake.

When you only have beaten one team in your (bad) conference, there isn't much else to talk about

We got thirsty during the last game and I picked up two beers on the concourse. With a small tip, the total was over $25! These were only 12oz cans. Won't do that again...

“ a lot of scoring around the basket” That should tell us all we need to know about our chances.

Out of curiosity, are they selling the ODU golden ale at the Ted? Are they even still making it? I thought it was quite good.

Yes. And yes. It’s in almost every store I go to locally.

When I went for many years, it seemed to be packed with people. It was nice but all the noise (in a good way) made it hard to carry on a conversation. I guess not with today’s games.

Who paid for the beer & cleanup, when it was free?

ODAF has always paid for everything upfront. My point is that it's not just the cost of beer that a consumer would pay whether it be by the case or by the keg. The vendor has their markup. Then there is staffing costs and cleaning etc., etc., etc.

Looks like their interior defense is pretty weak. Our bigs should be able to exploit that and cram the ball down their throat... oh wait, its not 2010 any more. :(

This is where those chart colors can be a little misleading. Their FG% allowed at the rim is 52.1%, which is almost 10% better than the national average.
