Not current year tickets, but lifetime tickets and giving.

current year is very much part of the calculation. And for football (for instance) it's the standing as of May 15 that is used for determining your appointment slot for picking seats and parking (and now waitlist).

When do they update the ticket count? Mine still says 0 and this was my first year with season tickets.
Doesn't really matter much since I decided not to look for better seats, but I am hoping to find a new parking spot.

it matters! I don't know the answer of when they're updated though. Next time I see an employee though I will ask.

I meant by current yr - 2024. Last year would be included.

RE: JMU Giving Day 2-22-2024
Just knocked out my annual P&T gift. Once the company match kicks in it appears I just provided 1 S-A meal plan.
With that being said, I'd just like to stake claim that I personally ensured our new QB doesn't starve this season. You're all welcome. Go Dukes.

You have to donate the minimum of $75 to the P&T fund to have an active ranking each year! The $75 donation can not be for any other donation for you to have an active ranking if you want to update(upgrade or change) your season ticket location. This is very important for the reseating done every four years!

From previous years' threads...
2024 Giving Day:
$944,150 from 3509 donors
2023 "Reaching New Heights" (Terrible "Giving Week" name that didn't explain what the purpose was):
$490,562 raised from 1,444 gifts
2022 Giving Day:
$1,035,165 from 4777 donors
2021 Giving Day:
$823,506 via 5053 gifts
2019 Giving Day:
$1,230,900.53 total dollars raised
Wonder why people contributed less this year than last?
If you're talking about the average donation, it is probably because last year was such an absolute failure to market to "small-money" donors. You had people who already have it "scheduled" that 2/22 is Giving Day every year, but if you are not attuned to that, then you probably missed it. (I never would have remembered about it last year if it wasn't for these boards. The email and social media coverage was that bad.)
It also doesn't help in calculations that theses years list both "donors" and "gifts". I have no idea if those are considered the same. (Again, I just grabbed figures from the past 2 years of Giving Day threads.) I contributed to 4 different funds last night...is that 4 "gifts" or is it just one gift since it is coming from the same donor in the same payment? I have no idea....
I am just happy that JMU fixed the mistakes of last year.

I throw everything into my football benefits. I have zero faith that they can link my giving day gift to my priority points

I never really understood the "giving day" thing at JMU. I stroke one check once a year and call it done. I don't see any advantage to donate extra during the giving day or splitting up payments.
They can take my one donation and use it for the whole year or I can split my donation into two payments. Seems JMU would rather have my (say) $1000 for 12 months than $500.00 twice a year.

It allows them to better market giving back to JMU and especially with giving challenges. All that work is easier to do once a year versus smaller events once every month.
It is why you the Community Foundation of Harrisonburg Rockingham doing the same thing with the Great Community Give. That and every large NFP (mainly universities) do giving days.

I know for me, this is (usually) the one day in the year that I donate. (I did donate extra once the SBC move became official - as I told JMU Athletics I would when they sent out interest surveys years ago.) It keeps it easy for my organizational purposes. I know where to look in my emails to see my donation history and where I can find my tax receipts. (Just look at February 22 or 23.)
It might be different if I was closer to JMU and regularly visited...but that's just not in the cards.
