RE: WAC MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEK #16
So excited for the GCU game. Are they the most talented team to ever play in Wisdom? The only other team I think compares is NMSU from two years ago which was Jans last season with the Aggies.
When we were DII, we were ranked #1 on several occasions and we played in Wisdom at least one school ranked #1, Northeastern Oklahoma. So GCU isn’t the highest ranked team to play in wisdom, but they may be the most talented. Trivia question and answer, when we played Northeastern, they were known as the Redmen. Today, their mascot is the Riverhawks.

I would agree that this GCU team is probably the highest NET ranking team to play in Wisdom. Hopefully the new arena will be ready for next season and in the future im sure we can get some home games with some other good midmajors. Doubtful we ever get a P6 to come but im sure we can occasionally get a MWC or AAC team to play a home and home.

On the Men's side, UTA hosted Oklahoma the first full year College Park Center was open. The Mavs had Oklahoma St in a two-for-one, but sadly hosted them in the COVID season of 20-21. With attendance restrictions in place, it didn't pan out the way the program was hoping.
There's a chance Stephenville could see a program come through.

Great game by the Wildcats beating CBU 71-65. We had a higher level of play. It was a strange game that I could not figure out what the officials were doing -- for both teams. Clear fouls not called and others called for no reason. But it went both ways most of the time.

That would be nice RCI but highly doubtful. Tarleton ends its transition at the end of this year so they can not go even if we win the WAC tourney. GCU SHOULD at least be on bubble watch. If Tarleton/Seattle or anyone else wins the Tourney( other than GCU) I think the Lopes will have to settle for the NIT unfortunately. I am wondering if Tarleton can even get an NIT invite this year. AWESOME game tonight at Wisdom. WELL DONE TEXANS!!!!!

Best team to travel to Wisdom is 2003-2004 Northeastern State team… period! Darnell Henson was the best shooter I’ve ever seen live in a college game.
That’s the way wisdom used to be every home game. Great job by the team and the crowd.

There was a darn good Oral Roberts team that came into Wisdom in Feb 1990 led by a kid named Sutton who broke all kinds of scoring records. 32 a game or something like that. Reisman was is in first or second season. Oral Roberts finished that season 36-6. We won, and to this day it’s still the best game I have ever watched in person. And I’ve seen an awful lot of Tarleton bball through the years. Elite 8’s, Final 4’s, etc.
