RE: AAC Indoor Track & Field championship @UAB
Two events remain. Rice won't have any points in the 3,000, so a lot will depend on Lauren Johnston of Charlotte. If she wins the 3K, then it will come down to the 4 x 400 meter relay. Charlotte comes in with the 2nd best seed time, while Rice is 7th. If Johnston wins, the Rice margin is 5. If the seeding holds in the relay, Charlotte will get 8, and Rice 2. Charlotte would win by 1 point.
That zero by Morgan Fey in the shot put could end up disastrous for the Owls (she was seeded 5th and finished 9th).

Also, Aislynn Reagle of Charlotte won the 2nd section of the 3,000 in a time of 9:41.86. That might be worth a point or two, depending on the pace in the final (seeded) section.

We definitely want Leoni Mierswa of SMU to win this 3K.

Johnston wins and Reagle from the 2nd section does get 8th. 11 points for Charlotte.
The Rice lead is 4 going into the 4x400.
If Charlotte wins the relay, Rice would need 3rd to tie (not going to happen).
If Charlotte gets 2nd in the relay, Rice would need 4th to win and 5th to tie.
If Charlotte gets 3rd in the relay, Rice needs 6th to win and 7th to tie.

UTSA wins the 1st section in 3:43.09. I'm not sure if Rice can beat that mark, and there are 2 sections left. Rice is in Section 2, while Charlotte is in the 3rd (and fastest) section.

Rice finishes 3rd in Section 2. Unless Charlotte has a disaster, they'll have enough in Section 3 to win the meet. Rice will have blown a 26 point lead with just 3 events left. Unbelievable.
