Well, they are certainly allowing them to play. Some of those no fouls would be fouls in regular season.

Refs have swallowed the whistles. Need to be more physical since no one is getting calls

It was pointed out earlier in the week that the announcers were calling the game from a remote location. I assume that is still the case.

The offense wasn’t humming tonight, but the defense was really good. If the refs would have called 2 obvious fouls on Edwards 3 pt attempts it would have been an even bigger margin tonight.
The Dukes got a break with #3 Troy getting upset. #11 Texas State is inferior and they will be playing their 3rd game in 4 days. Good luck keeping up with the Dukes.

A 17 point win.

Dukes took command relatively early and fought through every run. An obvious attention to stop their dominant threats was very successful.

This crew, was intent, to swallow the whistle. It frustrated us early and led to some jack 3s, but it also frustrated Marshal late as they were not drawing the inside calls they wanted to keep it close.

I would expect after reviewing the stream from the early games, the refs will tighten up some for the rest of the tournament.

Don't sleep on Texas State, they are on fire right now and have talent and height similar to Appy and you know what they did to us. TS hasn't been at full strength all season until the last month and they have been on a tear. We have to play even better tonight to get the dub.

The bobcats aren’t as big as App state. Not even comparable. JMU can outphysical them if it is a loose whistle as expected.

Playing the #11 seed instead of #3 seed Troy is a blessing as the stars continue to line up in this magical season.
I had forgotten that Texas State beat ODU in an OT nail biter during Tuesday’s Keener-Rowe round. While it is their 3rd game in 4 days, it is their 4th game in 6 days as well.
I’m fully expecting them to run out of gas and JMU moves on to the final.

They were not great at handling pressure either. Mix that with the tired legs and we should be able to turn them over quite a bit. Coach By may want to save our legs though and not press unless needed.

I can’t get over how physical both late games were last night. I thought it was balanced for the most part and I don’t mind having the players decide it on the floor instead of blowing a whistle every 10 seconds, but there was a ton of contact ignored on most possessions.

The Texas St. game almost got out of hand as there was already high emotion after the scuffle early and the physical play kept being allowed after. There were some possessions late when Troy was trying to give a foul and nothing was called.

Also, whatever happened to emohasis on calling less charges unless it’s clear? The charge call on Horton in the first half in transition seemed to be a terrible call seeing it live. Ended up not mattering but it could have been a huge momentum shift early in the game.
