I have an extra, all-inclusive suite ticket for both sessions in Memphis on Friday, and the second round, second session on Sunday. If the dukes end up there one of those time slots, the contest I’ll conjure up to join me for free will create a level of mental warfare the likes that these boards have never seen.

Someone of our two MAC opponents is going to dance as Akron will play Kent St tomorrow. Akron big man Enrique Freeman had 24 points and 21 rebounds tonight. Guy came to Akron on an academic scholarship and a player saw him playing at their Urec and was like you need to come play on team. Unbelievable story.

Couldn’t have worked out any better. My son now doesn’t have to miss school as we less than 2 hours. Already have hotel room booked with late start.

Easy drive from Richmond. Leave at 9 am and you’ll be at a hotel by 3 pm. No need to stay near Barclays. Bronx native here, happy to help with anyone’s routing. You can stay in nice areas of the Bronx or queens and spend $2.75 on a subway ride if you plan accordingly. Stay out of Manhattan and especially stay out of Staten Island. The former is an overpriced cesspool and the latter is not accessible by traditional public transportation. Ubers/Lyft’s/Taxis are not what you’re used to. Congestion/black car/pollution charges will add an easy $30 to your trip within NYC.

DM’s are open. More than happy to tell you where to avoid staying within each borough. I left for a reason…NYC is not tax-payer friendly.

Unfortunately, can't swing Friday due to the GDC conference out here in SF this week. But I booked a redeye flight Saturday into Newark arriving at 7 AM Sunday. Quick check-in at the hotel, then scoot over to Brooklyn by 10 am. Just gotta get by the Badgers first.

Well luckily United has kept their no change fee cancellation policy from the pandemic, so I’d receive a credit for the amount I paid for my ticket. Marriott is a bit trickier as I’d have to cancel by 11:59 PM Friday for a no charge cancellation. But here’s a pro trip for you travelers out there. If you call the hotel directly instead of canceling through the app, they’ll cxl the reservation without a fee. At least that’s how it’s been for me the last few years with Marriott.

Got 3 tickets in section 12. I believe that is the corner JMU will be in.

We'll see which way the tickets prices go.

How far is Manhatten/Soho from Barkley? Short cab ride, or long expensive cab ride?

Soho to Barclays is about 3 miles, but time and cost will vary on time of day traffic. I would figure a cab would be about 20 minutes and cost like $30. Can take subway for a lot cheaper. Uber is probably cheaper as well.

Brian

There are no tolls on the East River bridges (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg, Queensboro). However, traffic from Manhattan to Barclays can be a nightmare ESPECIALLY on a Friday, so an Uber might end up being a really hefty charge and taking forever.

You're probably better off on the 2/3 subway from Soho to Barclays on the way there. Depending on where your hotel is, you may need to take the 1/9 to chambers and walk across the platform to the 2/3 (literally 5 steps). Friday night on the way back to Manhattan at midnight might scare some people but most of the subway incidents are nowhere near the 3 stops you'll be traveling, should be extra safe with the tournament crowd emptying onto the trains. Subway would take about 20 minutes from Soho to Barclays assuming you don't have to wait long for the change at Chambers

Committed this morning. Decided to pay more and stay closer to the arena over trying to deal with the commute to and from Barclays. To the above point of route, tolls, traffice, time, etc, Google tells me yo go 81 to 78 and come in from the north. Pike, is that good advice or did I just hear come from the south and 278? We're definitely coming up 81/78 via Harrisburg due to a family stop with late Friday afternoon arrival.
