At practice. No Mikhal. Disappointing but not surprising.
Well, he is here now but just sitting and watching.
Darrell gave a rather vague answer when asked about MM's status by Fox 16. Interestingly the guy from Fox later told me "he's playing". Let's hope so

Just a note, Hodgson was very complimentary of you guys in his pre tournament presser. Indicated he hoped to get to play you guys in the Finals. Thought the tournament would benefit both of us.

I did not realize UALR alum Daniyel Robinson was the coach at Cleveland State. Also, former UALR Assistant (under Moser) and Associate (under Flanigan) Head Coach Kwanza Johnson is on Robinson's staff. Looks like Robinson is doing well at Cleveland State with 2 winning seasons since he has been there.

Watch warmup on tv but didn’t see Mitchell. We have plenty of talent to win this game without him

Don’t see him either. Of course, Ray didn’t mention it on the pregame.

RE: CBI
Well that was a well spent $80,000 (sarcasm).
Bottom line, we have one of the largest athletic budgets in the OVC with, probably, the highest paid coaching staff. We did not make the OVC tournament last year. We tied for first in the OVC this year. We should DOMINATE, the OVC. And if we spend a bunch of money to go to the CBI, we should win it. Either that, or don't effing go. It was a good, I said good, season. But for the money we put in it vs. The other schools, we have not gotten a good rate of return.

I think it was you that said we should shut it down without Makhel. Can’t argue with that now. I really thought he would be able to play.

I think we need to quit looking at this as ‘now’ thing and more of a ‘future’ thing. Because no one would’ve really cared (other than us) if we won this thing but the important part about playing this game is understanding more what it will be like to play without a Mitchell next year (assuming he’s not eligible). It also gave Creed and Cougar an extra opportunity to play. So, Walker needs to use this game to figure out what pieces we need to grab next year and who on the team now is capable of playing time next year. Clearly, we need a strong post presence to have a capable defensive team next year. Guard play seems to be okay but we will probably need more depth to replace the departing pieces.
Also, I feel like we wouldn’t have made this trip if it wasn’t covered by donors. So I wouldn’t worry too much about the money.
But Walker needs to have a redemption year next year and try to win it all for good. Otherwise, I fear another 3 years of crap.

I am quite "down" after losing our last 2 games of the year. Although, realistically most teams would struggle losing their 6'11" "starting" center. I say starting because he typically would come in at the 3 minute mark and play starter's minutes.

Also, I have absolutely no idea what the team will look like next season in the era of NIL and the transfer portal. I would think KK and Creed will be back. After that who knows.

Lets hope whoever is back next year they realizes at the end of the day it is a game. Life goes on regardless of outcome. Walker is a difficult coach to play for but if you are old enough you see where it comes from.

Doubt Cougar is back. Douglas can’t be too happy right now after not seeing the court after some early mistakes.
