RE: Clemson files lawsuit against ACC

With ESPN having the option to pick up the next 10 years of their contract with The ACC, all FSU and now Clemson have done is signal to ESPN that they are leaving. I doubt you’ll see ESPN pickup their option with the two biggest football brands in the conference leaving. The ACC could end up without a media contract and suffer the same fate as The PAC next February.
Clemson and FSU are gone. That’s been established already. What’s being litigated is how much it is going to cost them. I would expect them to be gone the 26’-27’ season. That’s 2 more years in The ACC.
You can bet other ACC universities are watching these developments and forming their own exit strategies. It would be foolish to believe UNC, Duke, Virginia Tech and others aren’t making plans. You can bet ESPN will let the universities it wants to hold onto know before the February deadline.
Unless I’m reading our athletic department wrong, I don’t believe Louisville is planning a lawsuit but that doesn’t mean they haven’t been preparing for the future in the event The ACC loses its media contract. I would expect Louisville would be on the phone with The Big 12 immediately after The SEC said thanks but no thanks.
If push came to shove and after all the P2 chess pieces move, if Louisville was left out, would you as a Louisville fan prefer:
ACC membership dominated by the AAU and private schools
Big 12 membership

It looks like he already answered that with his "I would expect Louisville would be on the phone with The Big 12 immediately after The SEC said thanks but no thanks." statement.
Louisville is more big 12-like, academically and athletically, than perhaps any other ACC school, and their geography fits about as well in the Big 12 as it does in the ACC. For them, it's just packing up and moving across town b/c the current neighborhood is getting a bit run down and has more crime than it used to. For North Carolina or Virginia schools, it's a life-altering event.

Quite a few Louisville fans seem to feel as you do. They seem to like the scheduling possibilities in the B12 if things do indeed come to that.
Based on metrics that we've seen presented, I'd say the Cardinals' P2 chances are better than advertised. I'd like to see it work out. Louisville football in the SEC could actually make Kentucky interesting.
