True.

I keep hoping for an 8-team hockey NIT for teams
like Colorado College that had a good season, but there doesn’t seem to be enough interest.

Will never happen. Players could always sign pro deals and play immediately when their team is eliminated from NCAA consideration and that was before the transfer portals started.

The Frozen 4 is set:

BC will be taking on Michigan
BU will be taking on Denver

These are 4 of the winningest programs of all time (in fact, they are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th in terms of all time Frozen 4 appearances), and account for what's nearly approaching half of all national championships in Hockey.

Not fun if you like new blood, but it will still be great hockey.

I wonder if we've ever had BC, BU, Harvard, and Northeastern all in the Frozen Four at the same time. It'd be a glorified Beanpot Tournament redux.

The Denver Pioneers 2024 NCAA title is the 10th for the school, passing Michigan's 9 titles for first all time on best program of all time list.

This makes 35 NCAA titles all time for DU overall (24 skiing, 10 men's hockey and 1 lacrosse) which is in the top 15 for all schools and the highest among non p5 schools.

What year did Denver become a full division 1 school because I think most of those titles were won when they were D1 for hockey only.

All of Denver's NCAA titles were won when they competed in the highest NCAA level; either prior to splitting to divisions, University Division, or D1. Denver did not win any NCAA titles from 1979 to 1999 when they were D2.
