The program desperately needs to turn it around or the slide is only going to accelerate. The athletic department needs to make student involvement & attendance a priority & possibly even move more student seats from the rafters to the court-side. These are the future rebounders & supporters & an investment must be made.

someone needs to raise this program from the dead, and it sure doesn’t appear to be Penny.

Like I said there’s no savior out there. Lots of programs with tradition are having issues. UCLA , Indiana, Louisville, Georgetown come to mind. All either hired a mid major guy or a retread

and none have stuck with the middling results we’ve accepted without making a change; and all…expect our twin program, Georgetown… have made Sweet 16 runs since we made our last in 2009. We’ve just been unable to overcome 3 consecutive mediocre hires.

I find it unbelievable that 12k folks will buy tickets and half not show up for each game. That logic doesn't work with me. I'd like to see an audit of the scanning machines.

The University is allowed to ask for that per the contract.

If you were at the games you’d know the place wasn’t half full for most games.

Tigers and Grizz agreed not to count that game.

what's hurting us is having to count exhibition games towards the total because the AAC plays a 20 game conf schedule now and when we signed the deal with FEF we were in CUSA with a 16 game conf schedule.

getting 17 home games while maintaining a tough OOC schedule and a 20 game AAC schedule is near impossible.

I think the AAC is only 18 games.

I remember talk of going to 20 with the new teams...glad to hear it's still 18

and you are 100% right, sir...my memory apparently sucks. It was the COVID season we went to a 20 game schedule. I guess these gummies work better than I thought lol

The current AAC is worse than CUSA 1.0 and about the same as CUSA after getting left behind there.

Some people don't care but a whole lot of people do care.

It’s a lot more than the conference

For me it's a LOT more than the conference. Playing in such a bad conference should assure us of going dancing year after year. That was Cal's mindset anyway, and I agree. Wait, no I don't, I would have 15 -20 years ago when we were relevant. Now we aren't as good as half the teams in our conference.

yea, Mensa makes great points. Maybe with the reconfiguration of the FEF seating bowl, we can find the right balance.

NCAA tourney runs are the only way to grow a new fanbase. Prolly gotta wait a few more years for that to happen if at all.

The only thing I can add to this discussion is my observation being at the Austin Peay game this year.

There were about 4,000 (maybe) in attendance that night. I just checked the box score and it says the attendance was 12,018.

I went to a few games this year. After every game, there was at least one car in the parking lot with windows smashed in. I think you'll see an even bigger fall off in attendance next year (most of our premier OOC games are away, the conference is weaker, and fans are pretty disconnected from and disappointed in the program).

I park in the parking garage every Tiger home game and almost every Home Grizzlies game - in 20 years I have NEVER seen a window smashed in
