That's actually a good thing considering he's got ice water in his veins, but that attitude was what caused the riff in the locker room with JQ and especially Walton, who basically quit playing in January. Fingers crossed, but I think this is a negative as far as keeping Jones. We need Dawgs. And rebounder. And defenders. Not scorers.

at least someone in here can look at it objectively.

I disagree. The slide came after Jones was already established as our go to scorer. I think JQ was the problem. Walton based his play on whether or not he could hit threes. When he missed (which was most of the time), it affected the rest of his game.

Yup. We were supposed to have three scorers in the team last season. Walton just had an awful season shooting and Quinerly was way more inconsistent offensively than hoped.

The team knew Jones was the go to guy from the beginning of practice. The problem is that he didnt have any help for a good chunk of the season. Tomlin ended up replacing Walton's scoring but the damage was already done.

Also, even with our offensive issues our season swung on the defensive end anyway. You can have one guy on the perimeter that can't/won't play defense the way you need. Jones just doesn't have the later quickness on the perimeter against smaller guards in a defense that switches as much as us. However, we had two guys on the perimeter like that. Quinerly's issue was effort but the result was the same. Two suspect perimeter defenders in a switching defense giving up drives to the basket and allowing kickouts that created open looks for three.

Which one would be most likely to take the support role?

Only one ball on the court at any particular time.

Biggest problem this year was that too many were expecting to be the main go to guy.

Good point. Jones is gone... jk kinda.

I don't know where he went. jsw3ent (his other arch-nemesis) has also been gone for quite a while.

I wish we could get another experienced Assistant coach. I don't trust Penny to not get tunnel vision during the season. I think it's best having differing opinions.

We got a real, real, real good player in Haggerty joining the fold.

Penny gets Yaxel Lendeborg from UAB and we are a Sweet 16 team!
