Violent brawl breaks out in Georgian parliament
It happened during the debate over who must register as a foreign agent. The bill would require people receiving over 20% of their funding from foreign sources to register as a foreign agent. The White House opposes it and calls the bill a “Russian law”. The US has been investing heavily in Georgian politics, media, news, lobbying, and funding political campaigns.

It is opposed by the the attacker, who previously served in the Ukrainian army during Russias SMO.

Proponents of the law say it is needed to ensure Georgias independence, as hundreds of millions of foreign money have become the deciding factor in many elections. They say it doesn’t give candidates who don’t take foreign money a chance in elections, as the people they are running against are flush with cash and have vast media connections pushing them.

Similar brawls have occurred regularly in Ukrainian parliament since 2014, although since most opposition parties have been banned, they still occur, but less frequently.
