I have it on very good authority that Bill Laurie takes care of basketball.

And why would you say basketball is a waste?

Basketball is not a waste, but it's not gonna get us where we want to go, not matter how much $$$ spend on players. Just look at UConn, back to back notional titles and they aren't in any conversation to be a part changing landscape of college sports.

RE: Massive NIL Deal
Incredible news. Transformational.

I am grateful to FedEx.

A 50% match will be required.

When the time comes, I hope all Tiger fans will do their part with the match.

Meanwhile, NIL contributions maybe made at:
https://www.901fund.org/
And
https://www.bluffcitycollective.com/ (Basketball)

Oceans start with a drop and collectively fans of lesser means like me can make a large contribution.

RE: Massive NIL Deal
In 6 months the Smith family has unlocked $137.5 million giving to the university of Memphis ( $75,000,000 in direct giving and $62.5 million in matching $).
They saved the quality Reno of SBLB we needed for functionality and image we needed. They essentially gifted the stadium packed with revenue streams to the Univ of Memphis.
They ensured the Grizzlies will reup for another 25 years and freed up money to make sure the Tigers will be sharing a first class arena during that time.

That’s on top of tens of $millions given in the past and look for a major gift soon on the business building renovation and expansion.

Hardgrave and Laird are proving to be a very effective partnership in moving the university forward.

Although he has stepped out of the spotlight of CEO, we should be thankful Fred is still pushing for supporting the city in numerous ways. I am a fedexer and we've seen a lot of shakeups in the past 6 months corporate wise that is driven by costs savings and new leadership. I would envision if he were not in the background this deal would be in doubt. In a city plagued by so much poverty amongst fans, I am thankful for the kindness he has shown with the stadium and now NIL; and I wholeheartedly believe this is what gets us into the next conference.

On another note, this being announced the same weekend the EYBL starts the season in Memphis is MAJOR!

I hope this moves the realignment needle.

Maybe it will.

Or maybe it's the ugly gal getting a nose job and new boobs.

We'll see.

This is huge. FedEx steps up once again. Hopefully we can get more local companies to add support as well. I'm looking at you AutoZone and IP.

It is impossible to overstate just how much Memphis has been blessed by FedEx and Fred Smith. Not just from providing so many citizens a high quality of life, but the University, the zoo, the airport, so many different parts of the city would look vastly different than they do today.

FedEx will find a way not to pay AIC and it won't have anything to do with NIL.

The excuse for AIC this year will be we cut jobs so publicly it wouldn't look right to honor the AIC for the FY. But the stock a few weeks ago was within 10% of the all time high we hit during the pandemic. December marks my 10th year, when we get the bonus im happy but i have more experiences not getting it.

FedEx NIL funding.
You don't think they know something that we don't, do you? Rhetorical - I know the ones of you who will deny that.
