Things have not been the same over at ShockerNet since ShockBand gave control over to the current owner. This guy has decided to be a little too hands on and really changed a lot of the feel of the site. The site has been great and very active for over a decade now and has been run by two great individuals in ShockBand and RoyalShock.

The current administration lets opposing fans who come over to troll do just about whatever they want while he threatens the home fans with termination if they call out the troll and respond in kind. I simply don't get it. The site has always been very welcoming to opposing fans who want to have dialogue and remember whose house they're in.

I've never, in the 10 years or so I've posted over there, considered leaving the site for an extended period. I've taken a couple of short breaks for a variety of reasons but never have I thought about leaving it all together. I recently did the same thing at the other Valley board that went down a similar path. Where essentially, you could drag Wichita through the mud and say whatever the hell you wanted, but if a Wichita fan responded, they'd have their posts deleted and/or be threatened with a ban. I'm not even one to try and stir up controversy and I was having legit posts deleted because I apparently didn't do nothing but compiment the other teams in this crap conference.

That's one reason I hope this site will eventually catch on with some people and become a little busier. I miss having dialogue with other teams fans on a consistent basis.

I really hope that ShockerNet doesn't get to the point where I have to leave before saying something stupid and getting banned. But the "leader" over there is ridiculous and I hope he learns how to successfully run a message board without turning it into the Bradley board in which you have to be positive 100% of the time. And I'm not that negative of a person...
