Any fans from longer standing CUSA programs care to weigh in on some of the best years for a top 2-3 QBs group in the league?

I guess two years ago with Heineke and Cato as seniors and Doughty in his ninth(tenth?) season would certainly be on the list.

Yeah, we had 40 years of Case Keenum and nothing else really mattered, and the other dude from Houston, Kevin Kolb. There were a lot of solid players in all positions at all schools, but Houston QBs definitely dominated most of our time in CUSA prior to the latest edition. Bortles(UCF), Davis(USM), and Webb(UAB) are others of note. Jordan Palmer was a name of note at UTEP as Carson's little brother and did well there, but I felt he got rattled a little too easy and never got to elite status.

If you look at QB records in CUSA media guide on here somewhere it's all Keenum with a sprinkling of Doughty and Cato and Kolb.

I remember all the QBs you mentioned well, just wasn't sure about when they may have overlapped and when there may have been another group of three like 2013 or what 2016 looks like it could be.

I think Keenum, Davis, and Bortles all shared 2011, though Bortles was a freshman and either didn't play a lot or didn't impress much, based on stats. Of course, USM wrecked Houston for the CUSA CCG that year and killed their BCS bowl hopes. Also the year a barely bowl eligible Marshall and subpar UAB wrecked USM which kept them from climbing high enough to get a bid even after beating Houston. CUSA has always been cutthroat.

Probably Ragone and Garrard for Louisville and ECU would have been the best earlier pair to play at same time, but that was before we were here.

The MAC was too when we were in it. We dominated it but there was always that one game..............like akron 2002 (I think that was the year), or 2001 when Toledo beat us in the CC game on a last second Leftwich misfire. Of course that sent us for the first time to the GMAC bowl in the ever EPIC ECU bout instead of the craptastic Motor City bowl....again. The two teams to get screwed the most during that era was Tulane 1998, and Marshall 1999. Both undefeated, both no shot at a big game even though there were decent wins in the year.
