Billy with no stars could end up winning the Heisman while that 3 Star WR you had a hard on for could be nothing.
I’m fully confident in Doc & Co. ability to recruit solid players at Marshall & other than a fluke season a couple years ago the proof is on the field. Look forward to another great season.
This is sooooo true. Take a look at last spring for Marshall, we had 2 Gants on the team, Kendall (RS Sr) Malik (RS Soph).
Kendall was a high rated 4 star one time 5 star committed to UGA. Malik was a no star walk on at Marshall from DC (Same HS that produced Byron Leftwich). Kendall really never lived up to the hype he was at safety and Malik passed him on the depth chart. The next day Kendall left the Marshall program.
Marshall did pick up 6 commitments in the last few days:
Lawrence Papillon RB, Miami FL
Patrick Keenan DE/TE, Tampa FL
Bakari Jackson LB, Fort Myers FL
Sharrod Frazier LB, Brunswick GA
John Jiles S, Wake Forest NC
Tarlik Keaton WR, Sarasota FL
But I don't trust or put any stock in these players until they actually arrive on campus. We've had our share flip to other schools on signing day or never show up on campus.
