I haven't chimed in on any of this but as a woman and an avid college fan, I have one thing to say to you....

You are a red-neck idiot....
Amen to that, MemphisKitten.

The Neanderthal tendencies among some of the Rebel faithful literally amazes me.

I'll be very honest about this issue for the Labor Day game - if any Rebel fan starts any unnecessary $h^t toward an undeserving TIGER fan that I witness, then they will get it back in spades squared. If it gets physical, so be it. I don't get "f-word" profane or insult other men's ladies, and expect the same in return.

Be forewarned, Ole Miss - the days of MEMPHIS fans simply sitting back and tolerating your unmitigated arrogance are OVER.

We hope you people can be halfway civilized and behave somewhat responsibly in a public setting, but recent events give me reason to seriously pause. You animals thrive in conflict situations but ONLY when you have the greater numbers - the true pack mentality.

Just remember - the days of TIGER fans taking your abuse have ENDED. I had thought you learned that lesson when we kicked Eli's party-time @ss in 2003 and helped show Cutcliffe the door in 2004.

I guess another object lesson is mandatory come Labor Day.

Quote:Out of 10,000 people that show up for a ballgame, there's always a few that find a way to have a bad time.

LMAO at the continuing demonstration of Ole Miss logic!!

Hey, you clueless jack@ss, the was a reason the pregnant lady and her husband had a bad time!!

It was because your tough guy students were emulating your hero HC Coach O :bang: ! They were verbally insulting the woman and threatening her husband because he had committed the unpardonable sin of wearing a Texas cap to that baseball game!!

And you have the gall to question his manhood or lack of action to a crowd of 5-10-15 (or whatever) @sshole students??

Damn, I am starting to look forward to Labor Day.

The winning team (Memphis Tigers) brought a lot of fans .
2 Does Mississippi have ESPN? Did you see the full Liberty bowl in the Southern Miss- Memphis and UL- Memphis games?

Just because you have ESPN does not mean you watch every P.O.S. game they decide to put on there.

I hope you boys and girls are ready. We're coming locked and loaded.

And shirtless, too.

You both went 7 and 1.....Mississippi's one loss was to LSU after Eli tripped over his own feet in his very last play at Vaught-Hemingway, and yet somehow, you're still "co-champions"....

Doesn't make ANY sense to me or anybody else outside of Oxford, Mississippi.....
Why don't you ask the SEC office why they say we were Co-champs.

There are way too many STUPID posts on here to respond to all of them.

I suppose that if the Tigers were to ever tie for a championship of any kind in CUSA that you wouldn't recognize.

But hey, even with your new and improved conference (sarcasm intended) you won't have to worry about that.

Wow, are you serious? I was actually in a luxury box at that POS LB for the Louisville game with a few sane Memphis friends of mine. It was not FULL. Also, in walking to the stadium, we all saw a booth on Hollywood where you could donate ANY amount of money and get FREE tickets to the game. And it still WAS NOT full by a long shot.

So, the closest Ole Miss ever got to doing anything since the civil rights movement was one of the many years recently that they couldn't beat us.

It sure looks as if we had traded places that year, we'd have been in Atlanta, not wished we were there! like you did!

This thread is just stupid. Ole Miss is on track to sell 50,000 season tickets, how many has little Memphis sold? And at what Kroger discounted price?

As long as we're talking about championships, Ole Miss has won them, how many have the Tigers won? EVER? You've been to exactly 4 bowl in your entire history (2 of which are now defunct) and of those bowls, probably the New Orleans Bowl vs The Mighty North Texas Wave is the most prestigious. That is just sad.

You rely on other teams to sell out your stadium, and whose to blame you, I mean after all it isn't ever YOUR stadium. Hell, Alcorn State has their own stadium. Which brings us back to fan support, you don't have a fanbase, and the few that do choose to cheer for the Tigers either don't have any money, or just don't want to give it to the school. So you are condemned to be a small blip on the college football radar screen.

On to the subject of rednecks, a subject which you seem so captivated by. I lived in Oxford for 28 years, and made many trips to Memphis. You have more rednecks than the average state, all in one town. You couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting 3 rusted out camaros.

I will give you some props though. Memphis beat my Rebels 2 years in a row. Good job, no excuses, you won, and I think it makes for a better rivalry. I mean a series record of 42-10 just isn't much of a contest.

I hate to go on someone elses board and flame, but some of the stuff ya'll post here is just plain ignorant.

Then dont come back if its so terrible. Stay in your 3 street light town hick. Kiames and the Pizza Den should fulfill all your cultural and culinary needs. How many tickets will you sell next year after super coach goes 3-8?
p.s. besides drinking and driving, what else is there to do in north mississippi after cow tipping season?

um rebels, mississippi is ahead of memphis
in every area of support. the only area
you are not ahead of us is on the field
where the game is played. whether you
like it or not mississippi football is on par
with the rednecks from memphis.
the eli championship was flat out given
to you. if u were the champs you would
have played in atl. mississippi couldnt
win cusa on a reg basis so dont act like
ur above the teams in this conf.
we r doing better every yr with attendance.
thanks to krogers some come that wouldnt.
some of those are buying season tix this yr.
by the way fedex gives out free tix to some
mississippi games every yr. be careful who u
make fun of.
mississippi still holds the overall record and will
for yrs to come. i am happy with how things have
been in recent memory. mississippi fans are not
happy with recent history. sorry reb but memphis
has caught up to mississippi on the field.

Memphismojo, your post is too steriotypical to respond to.

MemphoMike, Memphis has most certainly not caught up with Ole Miss, and I don't mean that in a derogatory way. Memphis has done well recently and yall have every right to be excited. But, smack talking a team that holds a 42-10 series advantage is just stupid. It'd be like Ole Miss fans mouthing off to Alabama fans. True, we upset them from time to time, and sometimes we outright beat em, but they are still the superior football program and we know it.

If Ole Miss is on par with Memphis, then why did the Rebs go to the Cotton Bowl in 2003 and Memphis went to the New Orleans Bowl? You had a great record, but you get no respect from the college football world. Ole Miss is your whole season wrapped up in one game, evidenced by the only sellout the Liberty Bowl sees all year. But I guess it would have to be. If you consider that AT BEST, you can win CUSA, and earn a trip to.....the Liberty Bowl, against an out of conference opponent, not that much different than the Ole Miss game.

I understand that Memphis has had a few good years and everyone in excited, and I don't mean to rain on your parade, I think the Tigers will do well this year, considering the new CUSA members, but smack talking an SEC team is just dumb.

reb it wasnt smack talk. it was fact.
check the last 10 yr records between us.
u guys went to the cotton bowl for
2 reasons, eli and u happen to be in
the sec. if all teams in the ncaa were
put into a pool, picked 1 by 1 for new
leagues. mississippi would be picked over
by most. mississippi isnt respected in
the football world. its funny to hear you
say it. memphis rec more respect natl
last yr preseason and postseason. more
has been written this yr about memphis.
obviously because of deangelo.
the diff in memphis and mississipp is
support and the fact that memphis
understand where their program is.
mississippi is in the sec but you have
to look way down the list to find em.

By your logic, we can't smack for another 32 years??? You just cannot face the fact that both programs are on an even playing field right now and have been for the better part of a decade or more. You guys love to live in the past. Series record for the last 11 years? 4-4....I would certainly call that "caught up", particularly when we beat down one of the best teams in your history (meaning anything in the last 35 years).....yes we may have gone to the NO Bowl due to contractual reasons (just as you were AFFORDED the Cotton Bowl for contractual reasons), but you laughingly point that out as a negative when you couldn't beat us in the same year.

Beating Ole Miss is not the end all....but it sure is fun watchin' you hicks squirm trying to defend yourself.

If If If........ that's all you have.

Ole Miss is ranked # 11 in the NATION for most bowl victories, #5 for best bowl winning percentages, # 17 for most bowl appearances. Where is Memphis? They didn't even make the list because you have to actually go to bowls to be included. Ole Miss accomplished this while playing in the SEC, against SEC opponents.

I don't doubt that Memphis garnered more media coverage last year. Ole Miss had a bad year, it's not the norm, on the other hand, Memphis had a good year, which is not the norm. Logic.

The fact is, Ole Miss is a founding member of the SEC, like it or not, and Memphis was passed over by every single respectable conference in the continental United States, finally landing in CUSA which had it's respectible members bolt in 2004 for the Big East. Take a look at a US map, and stick a pin in each CUSA school location. Your conference in nothing but a hodge podge of leftover schools that no other conference wanted to be associated with. Those are facts.

No, thats called disrespect. Losing to Memphis is an absolute embaressment, one Ole Miss could live without considering that Memphis brings absolutely nothing to the table to sweeten a deal. Game atmosphere in Memphis is a big zero, comparable to a Monday night gig at Mud Island. It's not a college town, you have more Grizzly fans than Tiger fans.
