Men like him represent everything that is wrong with college athletics IMO.

How? He's doing his job; looking out for the interests of his conference and acting at the behest of his university presidents. Do you feel the same way about Mike Tranghese?

Nazi soldiers did their jobs as well - does that meant what they stood for was right, just, good, etc? Are political lobbyists for the financial industry a good thing? After all, they did a top notch "job" getting companies like AIG (i.e. their CEOs and board members) millions of dollar of public funds.

The reason I say men like him (and the people he represents) are everything that is wrong with college athletics is because they stand for three things: unfair play, corruption, and excessive greed. And yes, my feelings also extend to Mike Tranghese and the Big East presidents as well. If I could destroy the BCS in favor of a playoff system that gave all conferences an equal shot, then I would do so even if it meant hurting the Big East and Louisville athletics.

Actually yes, and people on this message board have been saying that for years.
