Thanks for sharing. Who knows if anything will happen or not but it sure seems like there is a lot rumors swirling around.

Also found it interesting that ESPN is still pushing forward to air HS games on the LHN despite Beebe saying they couldn't do it.

Screw the rumors. I just want football season to start. Then we can ignore all this stuff and concentrate on important things. No matter what happens, we have no input on the situation, and our opinions are irrelevant...

The ONLY part of this I believe is that Kansas and Kansas State (along with Iowa State) have been talking to The Big East. This has been going on for months. Many here have known for sometime that these programs have a standing invite to join The Big East. We have discussed it in PM's that have been going around for nearly a year. The rest of the article is pure conjecture and isn't likely to happen.

Interesting. We could see nothing happen at all, or we could see a Big 12 meltdown that sends:

- Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State to the Big East;
- Missouri and Texas A&M to the SEC;
- Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to either the Pac-12 or SEC;
- Texas Tech and Baylor to the MWC, which replaces the Big 12 as the sixth AQ conference; and
- Texas to independence (with its non-football sports joining TTU and Baylor in the MWC).

And ESPN will tip the balance one way or the other since it's doling out the cash.

Still just a bluff?

I think you'd see Tech go to the BE before going to the MWC unless the MWC had already been give AQ status before hand

I find it odd that ESPN didn't want super conferences and yet they could end up being the driving force to create the first one.

It is still just subscriptions and bluffing. Capitalizing on aggie longhorn envy for subscriptions by making a story contingent on a premise of UT blowing up the league they held together. The LHN has to answer to UT on programming and either the NCAA or Big 12 will influence UT. Yawn and classic saber rattling.

This could well be the source of the information for the article from the A&M Scout Site. It was written two days ago, ancient history by internet standards. Writer raises some interesting questions..... No answers

I love 'sources' the thing with these articles is we don't know the motivatiOn for these sources to spread this info around...maybe it is just as simple as sOmeone wanting ut to back away from launching the nuke that kills the big 12

IF SEC goes to 14 will ACC and Big 10 follow suit? Also, if the above scenario played out Texas Tech is a much more attractive schools than Iowa St.
