Are you saying that half of those will buy a $40 ticket and drive to Hattiesburg? Thats about your entire gross for a La Tech home game.

They consistently bring more away fans to H'burg than any conference foe. Good enough for me. Everyone knows you hate LTech and no one cares.

Our money man picked them up in his new plane and is feeding them at Squire Creek and then flying them back...

FWIW Karl Malone is not involved with the visit, which is a good thing in my book

RE: La. Tech visit tomorrow
I hope this is how it works out.

Tulsa
North Texas
La Tech
Rice
Tulane

But if they're going 4 divisions of 5, where would the other 4 conference games come from? 2 against the "east" pod and two against the other "central" pod(USU,UTEP,CSU,AFA,WYO)?

Honestly, I don't think there are two schools in the south that have been snubbed more than La Tech & North Texas. Being blocked of getting in to the SWC back in the day was the first nail in the coffin, and moving down to 1-AA was the other. I think we've taken out one of the nails, and getting in here would be the other. I really hope La Tech has the same happen and we're in the same division.

that's why I think it's better to go to 24. You'd have 5 divison game + a permanent rival from the other pods (3) to give 8 conference games

Here's where LaTech decided to take the officials for lunch

Exactly. Still I'm a little weary of going to 24 teams. Is no one concerned that a weaker team might get an incredible draw and end up going 8-0?

I think realistically North Texas(in 2013) would be a middle of the pack to upper pack in basketball and low to average in football. We're in a great position to be in the top 3 in both in the sun belt, but if we bumped up there would be an adjustment period. I just think the basketball program would have an easier adjustment given that our teams best players are going to be sophmores next season. Even after Tony Mitchell leaves there's enough young players to be a solid basketball team in the alliance and not a drop in competition. I just hope LSU will leave our coach alone, although I don't blame him for leaving if he can get his dream job.

Our buddies at ECU may have something to say about that.

Does Karl Malone think he's better than your program?

If so, I feel you. Cedric "Cornbread" Maxwell has that attitude towards Charlotte.

IA, but it's been known that all the Big East cares about is how large the market is whether than the quality of the sports teams

Karl Malone doesn't think he's better than our program, I still believe he's p.o. that his son picked LSU over Tech the other week

Good move picking up the officials so they don't have to learn first hand the difficult travel to Rustown.

Why do people think Ruston is that hard to get to?

Rice

Wow. I would have figured somebody with a Rice education would be smart enough to know any school situated on a major interstate is pretty easy to locate.

Did I say it was hard to locate? No, I said it wasn't the easiest place to travel to, and that it was a good move to fly the officials in.
