I don't see how insulting UNT's stadium helps anything. To me, it looks like a typical 21st century on-campus stadium. It's not MM Roberts. It doesn't have as much drive -by presence, but it's probably got good sight lines, amenities, and such. Look at the scoreboards...

And it's probably a bad sign when I have to be the voice of reason ...

Drive by presence? Like magnolia trees all over the damn place and Scarlett O'Hara clones drinking mint juleps? LOL!

Hint: North Texas has not finished Apogee Stadium yet. What you see from both Texas interstates is merely Phase 1.

Yes, that looks like a Texas high school or MS small college.
I am still speechless. But I will say you are full of crap!05-mafia

Look, even before I knew y'all were coming to the "neighborhood," I was for you. Now that y'all are in, super for you. I look forward to coming back on game days to stay with fam and see firsthand.

But I'm not stirring the pot or full of crap. That's my honest assessment. I'm sorry if you take offense. Do UNT fans take outside opinions this well all of the time?

You and your wife must not enjoy logic much huh? You are not trying to stir the pot and not full of crap, but your wife calls our facilities "Division 2" worthy and you equate them to looking like a Texas high school facility or that of a small Mississippi college. Your "honest" assessment is anything but honest. It is completely subjective and is solely based on you and your wife's superiority complex.

And no, no Texas high school stadiums rival ours...not even Allen's new stadium that the Cougar fan posted. It will hold 18K, and while it might be the nicest hs stadium in Texas, it's about 12k less than ours...and unless its going to use technology from 20 years in the future where people can go to space at halftime, I don't see it comparing. And yes, maybe it does have characteristics of a small Miss college, seeing how the largest university in that state has about 20k students (sarcasm)...see that last statement was bad logic.

Look, I'm not saying that Apogee stadium is Jerry World, but I'd SUBJECTIVELY put it up against most D1 schools of our caliber including a good number of CUSA schools and defectors like Houston, SMU, and Memphis. In my "honest" assessment, saying that it's equal to a Division 2 school or a high school is ridiculous, and I don't know how you could think that any UNT fan would receive your comment with open arms.

I get that that's your opinion and it's your free will, but you're wrong here man.

And shame on the rest of you for reading one post and coming to conclusions on our stadium without having been there. It's a great facility, I wonder if you actually went in? Or went to the athletic center and peered in, or just did a drive by on I35. Regardless, you are the first one to say this who's seen it in person, up close or not.

UNT can play at Jerry World and it wouldn't matter, they won't be competitive in C-USA for a while.

You should come back if you get the chance.

More renovations.

Top 5 largest jumbotron coming, new sound system (which was awful), New Lighting.

Tiger Lane is really cool.

The Liberty Bowl is going to be pretty legit

I know the Liberty Bowl would absolutely BLOW your stadium away.

SMU stadium is REALLY nice

And Houston is about to build a Nice new one.

The Liberty Bowl in its CUSA final go around will be the CLEAR crown Jewel of the conference.

Tiger Lane, Huge Video board (top 5), and maybe spme fans sprinkled in here and there 03-lmfao

For those that haven't been around here for a long time, Eagle In The Gym has been a level headed contributor in this forum for many, many years. I can't recall a single time that he's ever posted anything just to start a firestorm. Many times there is a bit of humor surrounding his comments. You may not agree with him, and I haven't seen the stadium to agree/disagree, but he's a quality, level headed guy.

I wish the Rock was as nice. Maybe if you had seen Fouts Field you would have an idea for comparison but Apogee is definitely in the top 4 stadiums in CUSA 3.0. As far as everything else NTU is a urban campus. Its nice. Not out of line with any of the other campuses of public schools in the league. Also their basketball facility is better than ours and not a little better A LOT BETTER. I dont see the reason to knock on UNT.

As far as Tech, as a person who attended several games at Alliet I will tell you there is still work to be done but its coming along. I wish USM had something as nice as the TAC and as far as campuses are concerned Tech and USM are very similar in building age and the upgrades they have had the last few years. I bet you UAB (no offense to UAB but they dont have an on campus fb stadium) would love Alliet or UTSA (if they wanted one on campus). Its a very servicable stadium and is not very far below MM Roberts.

Thank you. I basically say the same thing with a couple of sentences and I'm labeled an ass-hole.

Lots of improvements are in store for the LB, but imho "crown jewel" is a bit much.

I can see where just driving by Joe Aillet would not leave one with a true idea of what it's like inside. Half of the stadium is recessed into the ground and not visible from the outside. Granted it's not Darrell Royal Memorial but it's far from DII.

Thanks, old friend.

It just makes me sick to think of what collegiate athletics has beome today.

I've been on many campuses, and for the good of USM hope UNT and the newbies hulk out, but am tired of saying, "all is well" and hoping for the best.

Not posting my thoughts would have been better than posting the thoughts, but it is the truth.
