We renewed our series with UK in 1994 and I don't think there has been a single game between us that didn't sell out, even during the Kragthorpe years. You're moving to a BCS conference and you can't even get 20k fans to show up for your game against an instate rival. How do you think that looks on TV?

Issues or not it shouldn't matter to your fans if you're in a BCS league. You don't want me to spout off? Don't give me a reason to.

The game was at SMU...

Who cares? 17k fans at a rivalry game is embarrassing to both programs.

Even if Houston travelled well? Pretty stupid to point fingers at a Houston fan for SMU's attendance. Idiotic actually.

Nobody travels well for a Thursday night regular season game.

Ehh that's not entirely true. I guess I'm probably comparing apples to oranges here but ECU has hosted VT on a Thursday night 2 times in recent history and both times several thousand VT fans made the trip. I don't know exactly how far of a drive it is from Houston to Dallas, but it's not a short trip from Blacksburg to Greenville.

How do you know they weren't local North Carolinian Va Tech t-shirt fans/alums?

Either way it looks bad. Houston fans obviously don't travel well even to a close rivalry game and SMU fans are apparently allergic to football. You can't spin this.

As crazy as this sounds, Coogs actually travel well. There's a big cutoff (cliff) of the diehards and the bang-wagoners at Houston.
