RE: GameThread: Charlotte 76, ECU 64
Football is already in charge at Charlotte. That's just the way it goes if you wanna play with the big boys. I don't think basketball has to suffer, but our overall athletics are really just going to be put in a damning position by moving to CUSA.

If the football gambit doesn't pay off, we could be looking at a long way out of the cellar. CUSA just isn't on the level of the A-10.

You're joking right? The two hardest fouls of the game were both by Kemp. One was called flagrant and the other the refs discussed for a while before deciding not to call it flagrant.

Kemp didn't flagarantly foul Braswell. They both were going for the rebound, which is why the 2 refs corrected the bad call made by the other ref.

Two guys just going for the ball? I've seen softer tackles on the football field. Also interesting that you didn't defend his actions on the foul on Henry.

In all seriousness; your players could be called for fouls on just about every trip down the floor. The refs have to give you guys some leeway, because that is your style of play; but those are still fouls.

What game were you watching? That technical came after the refs failed to call the previous 3 fouls in a row leaving half of our players on the ground. Since that play they started calling ticky tacky crap the rest of the night. Several non-fouls leading ECU to the free-throw line. They called several fouls on anticipation with no contact. The call on Henry when he had his feet set for 2 solid seconds. The extra shot they gave to ECU for our players simply boxing out... It goes on. At very least, it was called bad both ways, but to call that home cooking is rather naive IMO.

Welcome to our nightmare. I hope you guys figure out a way around this paradox.

Let me taste your tears SJ! If only they awarded extra points for PER and RPI! You would have won for sure!

For the rest of pirate nation, nice game. You have a few nice players but I dont see enough movement in a positive direction for the program as a whole. I just don't think Lebo is the answer and his track record backs that up. I really wish you guys could turn it around though. It would be a lot of fun having a nice back and forth with you guys every year.

Bowden is straight garbage still but he has some cool tattoos so there's that.

Officiating had NOTHING to do with Charlotte winning tonight. They simply were the more prepared and talented team....Period.

You guys didn't pay the refs. The refs actually cleaned up the action after the almost near fight. The problem was that you all were more physical (kind of borderline dirty but it worked) and ECU didn't press or play zone defense. Even when ECU cut the lead down, you should have been expecting to be pressed; but Lebo always called it off.

They played A10 basketball. We played CUSA basketball. Nuff said. I would LOVE to be in the A10 BTW. It would give us a schedule to sell to recruits for the FIRST time in ECU BB history.

It is going to be interesting to see Charlotte basketball fares after a few seasons of playing both FB and BB in the nCUSA. I hope they are able to continue their success.

You couldn't sell basketball to recruits with Marquette, Cincy, Louisville and us ten years ago?

I actually believe that ECU will be in the Big East before it is all said and done for all sports.

This Big East ain't your daddy's Big East or even your older brothers Big East; and its not going to work miracles by association.

I am betting you are wrong....but..we both are speculating. I think CUSA will hurt Charlotte BB..but..I am speculating. I hope I am wrong. I have no problem with Charlotte. I wish you guys all the best.04-cheers

A10 is usually around 6th best; but that doesn't help your team when its finishing at the bottom, on the court or on the recruiting trail. And there's still that issue of ECU being a football-only member right now. Cincy and UConn leaving are ECU's ticket to full-membership; but that sure hurts BE basketball if it happens.

Good game Pirates. I had fun. Can't wait until Wednesday's battle for the Hornets Nest trophy with Davidson.

I'd be perfectly happy with a A10 home schedule to sell recruits at ECU. I am afraid Charlotte is going to miss it.
