This.

You are so right....Tulane and ECU called up Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Louisville, West Virginia and Rutgers and told them to bolt out of this conference.

I had no idea that those schools had this kind of power...man, can't wait till they call some SEC schools....

I think (I could be wrong) they were referring to the backlash from not adding any Western schools at that time. It kind of left SDSU and Boise hanging.

Personally I like more geographic oriented conference structure. So, I thought Cards were better off be with Big East than Big 12.
I hope it will settle for the best for fan, not for money.

You are correct. Just felt that both could have been added after some westerna adds.

maybe, but when you dive into it, it does make a lot of sense. I never thought Boise would return to the MWC.

That's true, although I can't say I'm not happy ECU got the invite, it left the impression that there was no plan for the West. With no other Western teams added to this point it still looks like there is no plan, although there are rumors flying around, and it's no surprise that SDSU and Boise would start looking at their options. Say, hypothetically, Fresno and UNLV are announced to the nBE early next week. Does anyone think that would be enough to put the defection rumors to rest for the time being?

I don't know if this article is for real, but----it is possible that CSU and UNM
are providing a much needed cool, non-emotional way of trying to figure
out how to divide the money between BSU and BYU, and then distribute
whats left. If the money (and ESPN approves) it could happen.

Another thought, remember the balloon that was floated in another
news report, 9 schools with UCF and/or BYU...

Yeah i wish we could just put together a best of the rest. Under a new banner if needed. Start over.

East:
UConn
Temple
Cincy
Memphis
USF
UCF
SMU
Houston

West:
Boise
BYU
SDSU
UNLV
UNM
Fresno
Navy (football only)
AFA (football only)

For olympic sports, add St. Mary's and Gonzaga to the west. No inter-division play in anything but basketball & football except in tournament/championship stuff.

UNM and CSU????

That's like UTEP and TULSA talking to BYU about a new league.
