RE: ACC Baseball
Well, Oklahoma, USC, Tulane, Florida Gulf Coast, Virginia Tech (gee, an ACC team) etc... were all trying to win this season when ND beat them, sorry.

Those are all warm weather teams, by the way.

ND played well with teams ranked teams like Mercer and UCLA, losing by one run in both games.

Did you read my post about Mik Aoki? I am not pining for the Paul Mainieri days (which were only 7 years ago, not "Frank Leahy" ancient history).

I don't have blinders on. I just see the progress, on the field and in recruiting, that ND baseball has made the past two seasons.

Time will tell.

I disagree, UofL is building very good depth. There is some good high school talent in our region of the country. Every year our outstanding coach Dan McDonnell is plucking a couple of the best out of Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan....and supplementing our recruiting classes with fine talent from a few other states.....pitching included.

I think you nailed it. I haven't seen any UofL fans making crazy claims of coming in and rolling the ACC. Going from the Big East to the ACC is like jumping from AA to MLB. That said, UofL has performed in the postseason. A CWS and multiple Super Regional appearances in the last six years shows they can compete with quality opponents and we've had solid mid-week pitching when you speak to depth. UofL will compete.

Here's a 360 view of Clemson's Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Looks like someone has created a Wiki page highlighting some of the Clemson baseball info also.

Lol. I do wish that Syracuse had a baseball team. I have for years.

But, I understand that lacrosse is a much higher priority. There may be funding and Title IX issues, too.

Mik Aoki is a first class guy.
A good friend of mine was playing host to the BC baseball team as a member of the Greensboro Sports Council during the ACC baseball tournament and spent a lot of time with Mik and his wife that weekend. He remarked how nice Aoki was and how nice, polite and well behaved the entire Boston College baseball team was. He has since hosted the BC basketball teams for several events at the coliseum.

BTW the Greensboro Sports Council is the driving force behind promoting Greensboro as a venue for ACC sports.

Carolina's baseball team is undefeated (15-0)....just sayin'

With Syracuse not having a baseball team, our divisions will still come out even.
Baseball is the only sport other than football to have divisions in the ACC.

For the existing ACC guys

Can you get us (the newbies) smart on ACC baseball

1. Best teams historically
2. Typical attendance
3. How many scholies given out?
4. How ACC compares to the other conferences

Clearly Florida State and Miami have the most impressive history in terms of CWS and average wins. And Clemson and UNC are just below them.

But more recently UVA has emerged as one of the baseball powers in the ACC, having won the tournament 2 out of the last 4 years and gone twice to the CWS.
And in terms of total wins in a season UVa has the most wins in 3 out of the last 4 years with FSU and UNC close behind. Clemson, Miami and GTech follow and ACC newcomer UofL have similar levels of wins as they.

In terms of attendance FSU and Clemson are number 7 and 8 in the nation with each having about 4500 per game average. UVA, with its recent success, now is number 19 in the country in attendance with about 3200 and Miami is number 27 with about 2500. The next highest attendance of any ACC schools is around 1500 average among several schools.
