I can't say that a team that uses a grocery store logo is the top dog.. I don't care if their mascot banged some chick and had pictures taken.

I didn't need to see the crown to understand the lion reference. What I don't understand is a horse with wings that sneezes lightning. Actually I do, the horse represents our agricultural department, the wings represent our nationally known Department of Aerospace, and the lightning represents the Mass Communications/Recording Industry departments. It shouldn't be that difficult to explain a mascot. So lose the crown, it's not needed.

You just explained the issue with that rendition of your mascot, it's too busy.

How 'bout putting a cap and gown on him to represent your founding roots as a teaching college, jk. Imo, simpler is better but to each their own.

Lol I'd rather have Teachers College in one our old names than "International". Sounds like an online school more than anything else.

Rice's or UNT's

UAB's looks a bit dated...

Giving ODU the nod here based on the pictures used.

However, ECU uses a Jolly Roger as well. I believe a few other schools have some different logos as well.

Making a point about being overly specific and busy with the mascot.

As for the name International, as an international gateway, Miami's public university was named to highlight this focus and for some reason, The University of South Florida name was taken by a school in Tampa on the west coast of Florida.

I also haven't heard of too many on-line schools with international in their name but then again, I've never really given too much thought to on-line schools.

I don't see anything wrong with the name FIU but there are a few.

Jones International Univ., Western International Univ., Salem International Univ., Schiller International Univ., Trident University International, Atlantic International Univ. and International Academy of Design and Technology

FIU -- mostly on a charity basis (aside from a terrific incoming mbb coach, they don't have much else going for them).

RE: CUSA's Best Logo
BTW, speaking of which logo is best for us a lot of people like our baseball logo the best which is the only team that gets to use a different (traditional) marking.

The baseball logo is in Tyler90's just above.

Which do you guys think is better?

The block MT without the horse is so much better. So much cleaner looking.

RE: CUSA's Best Logo
These logos remind me of…
Charlotte: a love child from a soviet dude and green-peace chick
ECU: not sure, but it makes me hungry for jolly ranchers
FAU: how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie-roll tootsie-pop?
FIU: eh
Tech: pretty cool
Marshall: Beauty and the Beast
MT: Either a He-Man cartoon character or some unicorn looking show
NT: an off-brand mail carrier
ODU: about time for a grocery shopping trip
Rice: a monogramed present for my wife
USM: how bad I hate Iowa
Tulane: the collapse of the Big East
Tulsa: I am too OCC to like Tulsa. Cool school and I know the back story, but a hurricane flag in Oklahoma? Can’t handle it. Does beat Mr. Electric Power Company mascot, though.
UAB: I loved Puff the Magic Dragon and swish I still had my cassette tape and read along book
UTEP: should scare locals into staying in school or having to work like this miner guy
UTSA: ok, but would improve if they had a dumb-looking coyote running from it

No offense anyone. I am an equal-opportunity offender, including my own school.

Good grief, atleast the logo the school is currently using the most in it's marketing and merchandizing. The "Pedro" logo posted by the OP is currently the 3rd down the list.

The PSOM (Pirates State of Mind) is #1 and the Jolly Roger is #2.
