RE: Charlotte Sells Out Season Tickets
I have said this many times before...Charlotte appearss to be doing this startup the right way, with an emphasis on fan support. Contrast to the Georgia State startup, and you can see why many are so excited for their future.
Good luck in your inaugeral season (except in Norfolk!)

6500, but 5000 of those came with the stipulation that you had to buy seat licenses for either $1000 per seat or $2500 per seat. The $1000 seats carry a mandatory $250/yr donation and the $2500 seats require $1500 yearly (per four seats for both price levels).
Only 1500 were sold as standalone season tickets. They sold out with virtually no promotion. Just twitter and facebook posts.
Have no doubts we could sell thousands more if they were available and promoted, but stadium size won't allow for it.
Students get 7,000 seats. The rest go to visitors.

Now we need to get USF a stadium.I think there's plenty of room by the intramural fields by the SunDome and Mosi, or by the BBD & Fowler corner.
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but born and raised 10 minutes away from USF and strongly believe that Charlotte's stadium success could be used as proof that an OCS is the way to go for urban universities.
I don't want to hijack thread either, but the short answer is that an OCS is in the plans for USF, however according to AD, it won't happen until they can build a first rate 50K stadium (for example Minnesota's 50K TCF Bank stadium which cost about 300M). AD specifically cited Minnesota's stadium when asked about it recently. They don't want to go the cheap route, like FAU and UCF did. Until then, they are content at playing at Raymond James Stadium.
Well, that's never going to happen unless you start charging some serious student fees.
.
You know what they say: **** in one hand, wish in the other.
that's the point. they don't want to build it now and are using we are going to wait until we can build be best excuse to pacify the fans. eventually they may decide to build one but it will be a UCF style OCS

I think the C-USA visitor allotment will come from the student section. That's purely speculation, but I think it's a good guess. I think that's why it's so large to start out with. We have to give up some seats somewhere. We have to give 2,000 to the visitors starting in '15. Until then, I think visitors have like 500 seats.

Are you kidding? If you're fortunate enough to build a beautiful on-campus stadium, you're in the business of filling it up each and every time.
The only time the 49ers should ever play at BofA Stadium is for a bowl game, an *obscene* amount of TV money by way of the opponent, or some freak occurrence that prevents Richardson Stadium's use.

We'd probably only consider a game at BoA if a regionally close ACC or SEC team ever wanted to play here.

The only ACC teams we'd play in BoA for would be UNC, NC State, or Clemson most likely. Wake and Duke certainly aren't powerful enough to demand BoA. Everyone else is to far away to be worth it. The stadium wouldn't be anywhere near full.

The ACC teams really don't merit playing at BoA most of the time either, but local and regional politics being what they are...........

Temple moved their "home" game with Clemson to BofA Stadium and drew 60,000 a few years ago. It would take a Clemson or an SEC team to fill it up vs the 49ers. We are several years away from being ready for a game like that.
