OUT-freakin-STANDING!!!!!! Always have a soft spot for the Blazers.

FS1 Live show just gave CUSA credit. They said "CUSA has made a strong showing early in the season".

If only we had finished our comeback vs. Kanas.... The win over Tennessee will have to do for now.

Giga-congrats Blazers!

I'll admit that I scratched my head when Davis was dismissed, but it now looks like the right move long term.

From the outside it made no sense. A bunch of us even said that on here. But from the inside it made all the sense in the world. Now hopefully more people will see that.

Much better than the four letter network. Their coverage of UAB's win consisted of talking about "why UNC would even play in Birmingham" and how now they probably won't go back.

I was never one of the ESPN haters, but their ignorance is definitely on display regarding the G5 lately.

Forget ESPN. They hate everyone not BCS. Heck, the majority of the highlights from Charlotte's win over Michigan were of Michigan, not Charlotte. Screw ESPN.

Don't take it personally. Davis' dismissal has been a long-running conversation between Blazer fans and one delusional ECU van.

All I ever said was Haase was a complete gamble having never even been at a place like UAB or having done anything of note to actually work his way up the coaching ladder. I never said it couldn't work just that the odds of it working like you wanted were a far longer shot, and it's still ultimately yet to be seen if it does.

It's not Kansas or North Carolina, that's for sure. The guy played for Roy Williams at Kansas and got good ol' boyed into the 3rd assistant job at UNC because of that. Is it really that hard to "look" good in that position or know the challenges faced at a place like UAB. All I said was you guys took a huge gamble.

SJ, that is not all you said and you know it. You were ripping him apart last year when he was left with a shell of a team. I told you over and over that he was building a solid foundation and really doing some things that would help us in the long run. All you did was point to his poor record and say that he had no resume. You basically said it was the dumbest thing UAB could do to fire Davis and hire this guy.

RE: FINAL - UAB 63 #16 UNC 59
What SJ really said...

Quote:You fired a good coach that was overachieving with what he actually had to work with at UAB. You were 94th in spending, I know Davis had you a hell of a lot higher than that, even his rebuilding year wasn't much worse and certainly not the level you dropped to this year. Coaches don't finish national runner up without being pretty good, and Davis was doing well at UAB. When this new guy gets back to the level of success Davis was having get back to me.

4/22/13
Quote:As far as UAB, they were terrible last year and your class you are bringing in isn't as good as ours either. There is no reason for anyone to think you are a contender at this point.

Quote:Great. You return a bunch of players that did nothing last year.

Quote:To hire a nobody, that did worse than he did last year.

Quote:We had a significantly better team this year and will next year. UAB isn't even in the discussion of contenders for next year.
