If you want to be all new wave about things, at least find a band that has earned it.

do you like any music that is newer?

Very few songs. We are going through a bad music period right now. Every once in a while I find something I like, but most of it is too poppy or hip hop like. It like bands are trying too hard to be like the 80s, and this generation doesn't really grasp what the 80s were like. Even country is bad right now. The mid to late 80s was a dark period as well. This period reminds me of that time. Then Grunge and the Alternative scene happened. Around 92 we began seeing really cool stuff again.

Wow, I actually agree with you on something. I absolutely despise modern country, but love stuff from the 80's-90's.

The only band Okla posted that I actually liked was The Cure. If I'm going out my way to listen to 80's music I'll listen to Phil Collins, Ozzie, and some Metallica.

This song will never get old.

But Okla, I'm not the biggest fan of newer music also, but you can't go wrong w/ Stone Sour and I may not be the biggest Slipknot fan but Snuff is a fantastic song.

Naw... Sh*t like Metallica and Judas Priest was far better and heavier. Heck 80s rap rocked harder than the bands you listed. No Sleep till Brooklyn was that jam.

Dude, I grew up listening to Slayer. I saw Metallica twice. I am not comparing these bands. You don't have to be hard rock to rock hard. It has more to do with the era. Songs from Loverboy and Night Ranger were anthems for a generation.
