Are you telling us CUSA is close to a BCS auto bid? Just wondering.

I think he was talking about the ACC and Big XII.

Problem is the ACC isn't geographically sensible. BC is a major outlier. And while Maryland has contiguity and has some history with its brethren, it has better geographic and cultural sensibilities, better existing and potential rivalries, and lower travel costs in a Big East. But I could let that one slide. If the ACC had say USF, UCF, ECU instead of BC then you'd make sense there. And the Big 12 is just spread all over the nation's midsection. It doesn't have a whole lot of geographic sense to it either.

Please some one show how much money Seton Hall and providence have earned for the BE over the last ten years in basketball and then tell me how much the BE paid them. Same goes for ND!

In terms of geographical sense, the old 9-team ACC was the most compact.

Now they are like all the rest of the BCS conferences, spread out all over the place.

Not sure we will ever see a BCS conference that makes geographical 'sense'.

Cheers,
Neil

Once Again - Just Say No - To 12 Team Conferences

Do you think one or two years conclusively proves anything? Don't worry about geographically-sensible 12-school all-sports conferences with BCS affiliation. You will see them succeed soon enough.
A conference with a school in Massachusetts which then skips over the rest of New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania is not geographically sensible.

The Pac-10 is geographically sensible. The Big 12 is geographically sensible. The Big Ten is geographically sensible. The SEC is geographically sensible. Go get a map.

Adding BC and ECU would make a great 10-team all-sports conference.

You Louisville people never change. You've been in this new league less than 2 years, and you already feel fully empowered to weigh in on and lobby for the ouster of charter members of a conference that invited you to join. I presume that you were fully aware of the makeup and structure of the Big East before you accepted the invitation. This is the same Louisville whose identical behavior got them literally voted out of CUSA, and had to travel around the conference kissing enough tush to be voted back in.

Ohh wait, I won't make myself look stupid by grouping an entire fanbase together. Try it out next time.

Isn't there another conference beside CUSA to maybe get a team from? This fixation that CUSA is some type of breeding ground for the BE to get another team is bizarre. I understand teams like UCF, Memphis and ECU are very interested in the BE but has it ever occurred to some that maybe the BE brass is looking at other options besides CUSA?

I would be happy if the BE would just add the 9th team for football only and divided the BB teams into 2 divisions (8 & 8) FB vs BB for a few seasons to how it worked. The divisions play H & H and 4 rotating games with the other division each year and play the Tournament at MSG with the division camps getting byes on the first round. If this worked then they keep the status quo going with the current split terms in affect at 2010 to be kept in place for an annual evaluation after 2010 in case things don't work out. Keep it simple and take the split in steps or keep the conference together under a federated FB and BB umbrella while the NEW BE FB program continues to build and get stronger and drives toward the BCS respect it deserves without the two thugs and the traitor that left for the ACC swampland in the southeast. 07-coffee3
