I'm thinking if all things go well, the Spartans could wind up in Orlando or Tampa.

I think Michigan State will struggle to make it to a bowl game this year, but who knows, I said the exact same thing last season and was proven wrong. I think the key will be winning all of your nonconference games, Rutgers is an improving program that could give you trouble, you never know what your gonna get with Notre Dame, and MSU must remember that they are going to Hawaii to play a football game and not for a vacation. If you win those I think you will get a bowl game for sure. It sucks that you guys need to go 7-5 instead of 6-6 to be bowl eligible.

I don't think MSU will be going bowling this year, the Big Ten is too strong. But they will be solid in a couple years. Serves you right for beating us in 1998 to ruin our championship chances. :D

I think you'll realize how blindly optomistic you are after the Spartans return from New Brunwick.

Michigan will fail to live up to all the hype once again. With all the talent they gobble up every year, they should have had at least 5 more national championships! They are predictable and boring to watch.

I'll take 34 consecutive bowl games and only one <8-win season in that span with only 1 NC over Miami's run the past 20 years, which has included sub.500 seasons (like 97) and numerous off-the-field problems despite 5 NCs, thankyou very much.
And remember when everyone was calling MSU a top10 NC darkhorse team in 2002?????? Michigan has never underacheived that badly......

Orlando or Tampa would be very very nice,Im thinking more along the lines of a bowl in Texas,we have the Alamo for the Big 10 #4 and The Sun Bowl Big 10 #3.

I agree #1, it will take a year or two before we get a NYD Bowl game [SIZE=1]

Well, I think the Spartans will start off strong with a string of four victories over Rutgers, Central Michigan, Notre Dame and Indiana, followed by a loss at Iowa, another victory over Illinois at home, followed by four straight losses to Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin, completing their season with two more victories over Penn State and the Hawaii Rainbows.
September 4 at Rutgers W
September 11 Central Michigan W
September 18 Notre Dame W
September 25 at Indiana W
October 2 at Iowa L
October 9 Illinois W
October 16 Minnesota L
October 30 at Michigan L
November 6 Ohio State L
November 13 Wisconsin L
November 20 at Penn State W
December 4 at Hawaii W
7 wins, 5 losses ... in my opinion, Spartans will be bowl eligible in 2004.
While being "bowl eligible" obviously won't guarantee the Spartans a bowl game, it will sure put them on the invitation list. :D

Losing to Rutgers does not help things.
