I do not agree. I thought he did miracles with the material he had last year. I think he can shine up 3 stars to play pretty well. Lets give him a little longer.

I'm surprised it is so quiet on the recruiting front. This time last year we were rolling but it seems like now we are dead. Are we going after higher caliber guys or is there just not as much local talent in this year's class that is interested in Cincinnati?

It's still REALLY early. This staff was able to hit the ground running this time last season but I'd expect them to a little more reserved since they have like 13 outgoing seniors and probably not too many more scholarship spots available in this class.

The bottom line, I wouldn't view the lack of a commitment in April as much of a concern, especially with this staff. I'm sure things will heat up as UC starts filtering players through their camps this Summer and into the Fall.

As of right now, only 7 AAC schools even have commits for 2019 and only 3 of those have more than one: https://247sports.com/Season/2019-Footba...erence=AAC

Not to mention we are just finishing up our spring ball. Doesn't leave much time to go out and 'croot.

RE: Football Class of 2019
The way we snagged a couple recruits early after the Spring Game was unprecedented here. I've been following recruiting for a long time and with the exception of an occasional recruit we grabbed in May, I can't think of too many recruits we landed prior to high school getting out.

Last season we had a group of kids who buddied up and decided they were going to go all in on the Bearcats together early on. We don't have that dynamic in this class. That's not to say we won't grab another quality class, I just think we will be grabbing them one at a time throughout the recruiting period. Also, since we are in year 2 of the early singing date (December), the P5 schools have and will adjust how aggressively they recruit kids on our radar early on.

Solid player...have seen him a few times in camps and on the field for Wayne. Kind of interesting that we're still going DB after having 4 in last year's class with still not a peep about OL.

Honestly, I think this is another case of Fickell stockpiling talent (which is a strategy I'm always 100% in favor of). UC is pretty young at corner but lose 3 seniors at safety to graduation after next season. Plus, you never know if McClelland is going to play offense or defense, assuming he's in the 4 DBs you're thinking of.

Overall, I would love to have Harris on this roster. He appears to be as ball-hawking a DB as UC's brought into the program in a long time. Whether that means he sits on the bench for a year or two or plays as a true freshman, I don't really care. Still plenty of schollies to add to other areas of need.

One of our top O-line targets just committed to UK a few days ago. Eli Cox I believe. For whatever reason, we can't seem to get any traction with O-line prosoects.

Life long UK fan. His family has had season tickets to UK football before he was born.

I'm not that well versed in the art of turning high school athletes into division 1 players, but seems like a CB recruit could slide into multiple position groups... WR,CB,LB/hybrid, safety. Seems like a good position to stockpile, but maybe that is an incorrect assumption.

6'8" 250 who has played QB, TE, and DE, and they said they'll give him a shot at QB? Good lord...frame and athleticism would make him a great OT if he has the physicality to go along with it.

UK lost out on the two big OL in their state they thought they were going to get, so they moved on to Cox after that. It sounds like UC is still in pretty good shape for 3 of the OLineman at the top of their board.

Haven't seen it posted but UC got a commitment from Cameron Jones last night, ATH from Lexington. Sounds like they're gonna let him try out at QB. He is 6'8 and weights 248.

Maybe they're thinking if the OL sucks, it would take a lot to bring him down. Not too many blitzing CBs could take him down....
