Well, to answer the OP, no, the entire board is not on suicide watch.

Happy with the season thus far:
Temple
Memphis
Houston
Navy
Tulsa
UCONN
Probably SMU too

Honestly, its just the scores that bother me. I knew it was likely we'd be 1-2 going into UCF. Everyone who said we'd make a bowl this year assumed we'd be 1-2 going into week 4. The optimist in me thought we could steal one from Duke and be 2-1. So its just the ugly nature of those two losses that has me all
Now, if we had lost to Maine... then yeah. You should have started doing wellness checks. But things aren't too bad. A blow out loss counts just the same as a close loss. 1-2 is 1-2. We beat UCF and bowl contention is not out of the question.

Which means the entire West division, except Tulane, is happy. It's the East on suicide watch, minus Temple and UConn.

Like I posted...UCF should've been the one AAC school that they wanted to see run the table since one of their own beat the Knights. They are seriously dumb.
I guess I can Marshall fans a break, given the academic reputation of the student body...

We are exactly where I thought we would be 1-2, still think 6-6 is the goal and possible as team develops. I thought we would be 1-3 out the gate and my biggest concern still is how this team would react to such a start

How come nobody's mentioned Temple scraping by UMASS? That was kind of scary

I'd rather look good in defeat than give a valiant effort in defeat in a game no one else will remember.

RE: So is the entire board on suicide watch?
My feeling about the year so far is mixed. On one hand, as my G5 Conference Comparison shows, we are easily having the best year among the G5 conferences, and since we finished 3rd among the G5 last year, that's a big improvement and obviously a good thing. Realistically, the G5 Access bowl spot is going to go to either Toledo or the AAC champ, and Toledo is unlikely to run the table. At this point, I think we have an 80% chance of getting that spot.
Bigger picture, though, in terms of our effort to be viewed as a "tweener", as much a Power league in terms of results on the field as a G5 league, our results are "not so much". We just haven't been able to win many games against P5 opponents, we're still pretty obviously nowhere near that level. Nobody is confusing us with any power league, not even the ACC.

That's nice for UConn and Cincy, but that's hardly our whole league, and obviously that was done to cover B1G scheduling arse, as they have schools that have scheduled those teams and want them counted.
They also count Army as P5, for crissakes.

Navy counts too, making it 25% of the AAC. They have yet to name any school from any other G5 conference.

My understanding is that this was done on a waiver basis. We do not know if any B1G schools have asked for waivers for any other schools, AAC or otherwise.

Maybe, maybe not. Navy doesn't have any Big Ten opponents on their schedule:

IMO, Navy and Army are about politics.
BYU and Notre Dame are about independents (Army too, but see above)
So really the 2 teams that got in purely on merit were UC and UConn.

An article I read did say one team was denied the waiver. Didn't name schools, but it should be pretty easy to see which BIG schools are playing other G5 opponents. Probably a MAC or MWC team (guessing that based on geography only)
