BYU and Notre Dame are about independents (Army too, but see above)
So really the 2 teams that got in purely on merit were UC and UConn.
JMO.
IMO, neither UConn nor Cincy was about merit. This was about the B1G helping a member in a scheduling bind. Has nothing to do with us, per se.

Speak for yourself. Losing to Temple and almost coming back is not sucking. Last year at this time everyone wrote the Cats off and they took a share of the Championship. (09-20-2015 07:54 PM)Bearcats#1 Wrote: UC fans are in the 'acceptance' phase of realizing we suck.

On one hand, as my G5 Conference Comparison shows, we are easily having the best year among the G5 conferences, and since we finished 3rd among the G5 last year, that's a big improvement and obviously a good thing. Realistically, the G5 Access bowl spot is going to go to either Toledo or the AAC champ, and Toledo is unlikely to run the table. At this point, I think we have an 80% chance of getting that spot.
Bigger picture, though, in terms of our effort to be viewed as a "tweener", as much a Power league in terms of results on the field as a G5 league, our results are "not so much". We just haven't been able to win many games against P5 opponents, we're still pretty obviously nowhere near that level. Nobody is confusing us with any power league, not even the ACC.
Big Ten says UCONN and Cincinnati are P5.

That's nice for UConn and Cincy, but that's hardly our whole league, and obviously that was done to cover B1G scheduling arse, as they have schools that have scheduled those teams and want them counted.
They also count Army as P5, for crissakes.
Careful, Quo. I like you so watch it!

I hope my team makes you realize either of those those scenerios.
Sorry, I meant look bad in victory.
