UC and UH or UConn to Big 12?
Spreading like wildfire. I would think UConn is a far better fit in the ACC. The Huskies with Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Kansas State, etc., Texas and Plains states 1500-2000 miles away?? Who knows? Realignment never makes a lot of sense to me.

Gunna be hearing a lot of this type of thing over the next few months. There are lots of upwardly mobile quality athletic programs in the AAC. The AAC schools have done a great job of investing and developing their programs. The biggest issue I see right now is any raid is going to really hurt basketball (the league is looking at losing teams like Cinci, Memphis, or UConn). There are simply no quality replacement programs available in the footprint that offer solid tournament quality basketball, top level G5 football performance capable of consistently attracting home crowds of 30-40K. A few offer solid basketball. A few offer solid football performance. A few offer good attendance. Nobody offers all 3. Its going to be tough to replace whoever leaves.

I'm not sure where you getting the latest but I'll play

UC and UConn wouldn't be a bad idea for the Big12... Northeast presence would be a huge lift for that league.

I still believe the Big12 made a huge mistake going with horrible tiny nonexistent markets Waco/Baylor n Lubbock/TT.

It's all spreading from a single twitter source. Posters like you are the 'wildfire'.

I'll believe it when a formal news conference announces it from a Big 12 or Cincinnati official.

No Star Wars characters today. Just the two Greg's. Fluguar, and Swaim.

Cincinnati, Memphis, UCF and East Carolina would make sense to get exposure in the three other P5 conferences. I agree Houston would be a great P5 school, but not in the Big 12 unless a Texas school leaves, then Houston is on the table.

Perhaps take a look at the Houston TV ratings this year, before spewing those tired talking points.

I'll save the trouble, the Big 12 had all of 2 of the top 10 highest rated games this year in Houston.

I am not bashing Houston or anything. I said they are P5 material, but with the status with Texas. The Longhorns do not want another Texas school in the conference no matter how good they are on field and on tv. Texas is the roadblock for Houston right now. Big 12 needs to expand their tv markets, and Houston really does not expand the market right now. Could the ACC expand westward like getting UAB, Southern Mississippi, Tulane and Houston? Maybe that could work?

This problem will not arise, because nobody is leaving, at least not in the next five years.

RE: UC and UH or UConn to Big 12?
You people really need to go and read up on how money is collected for new age conference networks like the SEC and BIG have (and likely the other 3 soon enough). 0-12 UCF stands a way better shot at the Big12 than Houston and it obviously isn't because of their football team. Houston is cursed by being in Texas for Big12 realignment. UConn also stands no chance just because that would be stupid for both parties involved on top of a small state pop.

What, no West Texas A&M or Lamar? I'm shocked.

Adding any of these schools would be a death sentence for the Big12.

If replacements are ever needed that have shown the ability to have decent crowds and results for both FB and MBB then the AAC may have to extend the foot print somewhat.

It's a small state.

But it is densely populated.

And also has the richest per capita $$$ in the country.

3.6 million people. No pro teams. No other school.

So compare it to Kansas (2.9m and 2 schools), Mississippi (3 pop and 2 schools), Iowa (3.1 pop and 2 schools), Pennsylvania, Oklahoma (3.9m and 2 schools), Oregon (3.9m and 2 schools), South Carolina (4.8m and 2 schools), etc.

It's not until you get to Minnesota that you find a school with more population per state university ($5m) but Minnesota also has 4 pro sports teams.

In fact, there is no state with more population per school and no pro sports.
