He would have had to re-load a couple or few times. Also, as a Florida resident and CCW holder, it's important to note that bars are no gun zones. Even with a valid permit, you cannot carry in a bar in Florida. Everyone there was defenseless basically.

Serious question to the liberals here, why is it okay to consider banning a constitutional right (2nd amendment right), but not to consider banning Islam (1st amendment right)? Islam kills a lot of people around the world.

I think that's an unfair ******* question for the liberals. It's largely a straw man. I'm pretty certain that there have been less than 5 serious posters--all-time--that ever advocated banning guns. You shouldn't ask them to defend a position they don't necessarily hold, unless someone just wants to play devil's advocate.

Advocating for strict licensing and record keeping requirements, bans on certain types of firearms (or extremely strict licensing for those higher caliber/round arms), and bans on certain types of clips is not the same as banning all firearms.

They don't call them 'defense rifles' for a reason. They call them assault rifles.

So why are we giving away so many licenses? That's my question. How hard is it to get a license in Florida? My entire point was that Florida gives away licenses like this to just about all comers, with few questions asked.

Thank you!

I drive down that street almost daily. It's on my route to church, which I didn't go to today. Buy gas and put air in my tires at the 7/11 across the street. Just got my windows tinted a couple months ago in the red building next door. My favorite Thai restaurant and Starbucks are across the street. Target is next door, my fresh produce and meat groceries is a couple buildings down. This could have happened to anyone. I'm safe because I'm old and was in bed by 11:30 last night. Most of the club district in Orlando is in the business district. The gay clubs are off the beaten track, probably for safety from other clubgoers, and this is what made them vulnerable.

So they're defenseless while he's shooting. But wouldn't he be fair game while he's reloading.

I'm just saying because we just watched a How Do You Defend Yourself video at work to protect yourself from office violence. It seems to me that in a situation like this, all you can do is mass attack the shooter when he's reloading.

No need to stick up for him, but I don't see the need to make what happened to these people, their parents, friends, etc less important just so I can feel good on a message board.

I'm sorry, but it takes a really, really messed up person to do that.

I never said that it was less important, that's what you are interpreting. Maybe you are the one that's making it less important...

What part of the way Muslims treat gays has Obama missed? It is well known how Islam treats gays, yet Obame just ignores it and praises them anyway.

Workplace violence. Hate crime. Random act of violence. Lone wolf.

Libs will tie themselves in knots to label this anything other than what it really is.

Haven't heard much on the background of the Grimmie shooter. Is that person named?

Given that we are at the start of the summer vacation/holiday season if both turn out to have terror connections or sympathies makes me wonder if Orlando was selected as a c target city because it is a major tourist destination similar to Paris.

Terrorists want to strike at our hearts and put fear in our minds. No better way to do that then to make us fear going on vacation.

Better double down on security at Sea World, Disney World, Epcot, Universal Studios, etc.

Terror is here. We are not immune nor any safer than European countries. And we are letting the terror enter our country as refugees and giving them benefits when they arrive. #trojanhorse #lettingtheenemyinsideourgates

They already have. Was in LA last week. The studios and theme parks had much higher security than they used to.

I still remember hearing about Rebecca Schaeffer getting killed by an obsessed fan back in the 1980's (she was a TV/movie star gunned down by a nut at her apartment). Theresa Saldana was another high profile stalking case - she survived her attack but she just recently died of cancer I believe a few days ago in her early 60's.

John Lennon, of course.

I'm not pro-Obama. I'm Obama neutral on the best of days. I just never made him my boogeyman. Especially not enough of a boogeyman to even have him cross my mind when we had 50 GD DEATHS!

Looks like this guy has more in common with Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and the rest of the anti gay Christian right than they want to admit.

But oh, we can't ban assault rifles and high capacity magazines because this is exactly what the founders had in mind when they wrote the Second Amendment.

You know, a celebrity signing autographs was attacked by a deranged fan in Japan last month too. But it was with a knife, and she survived. That's not going to happen in a country with loud mouthed right wingers who demand unfettered access to military style weapons because freedom or something.

I love how Lazy Tom is posting in a thread about how a christian woman was murdered. Only that, he didnt post about the christian woman.

For liberals, some peoples lives (christians, unborn babies, babies that were accidentally born) are worth much less than others. (liberal, gender confused, binary, muslim)

Everyone's life is important.

If you want the violence to stop, you have to go after the root cause. The root cause is not guns. If you keep going back to gun control, you dont care about people getting killed. You only care about your agenda.

And its vey sad that the root cause of one of these violent acts was muslim extremism. Yet, you liberals arent getting butthurt over that. Its time you guys showed some anger at the real root cause. Get angry ay muslim extremism. Get angry at Obama. The moment the people that he takes for granted starts getting mad at him is the moment he starts to act.

We don't know what the motivation was of the shooter. All we know is that they used an assault rifle.

Do we know the weapon model yet? All I've seen is an "assault-style" weapon which can mean literally anything.
