They could get the same waiver that Liberty has. With Jax St, E Kentucky, Youngstown St, Liberty, NMSU, maybe SHSU and Lamar, they could easily put together a fb schedule and stay in the MVC at the same time. Don't know that more waivers are coming, but they are almost certainly being discussed are certain campuses. Stony Brook, JMU, and Delaware could do the same.

None of which solves the problem that the MVC in hoops minus Wichita State is a conference that no longer has three of the five closest schools to Missouri State that were present when the Bears joined the league.

It doesn't solve the problem of level of play in the Valley which would be in danger of moving out of the upper half of conferences in RPI.

There is no reason at all for Missouri State to pursue a waiver to join FBS because MISSOURI STATE DOESN'T WANT TO JOIN FBS.

Missouri State's interest is in being in a good hoops league, they would probably upgrade to FBS to attain membership in a better hoops league but football isn't driving the bus in Springfield.

If Mo St was FBS, that would nearly ensure a CUSA bid if ever a spot opened up. They would get in even over Ark St.

And if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump his ass on the ground.
With 14 schools don't see CUSA adding anyone any time soon.

CUSA needs to split to get more CFP money. Mo St would be in the SW half.

If Big 12 did grab 3 to 4 teams from AAC? AAC would grab Rice, Old Dominion, Southern Mississippi, UMass, Toledo and Northern Illinois. Still would be a good enough brand for football and basketball.

C-USA splits:
C-USA:
Marshall
UAB
FIU
FAU
James Madison
Delaware
Charlotte
Georgia State
South Alabama
Western Kentucky
Middle Tennessee State
Stony Brook

New Southwest Conference:
North Texas
Texas State
UTSA
La. Tech
La.-Lafayette
Lamar
Missouri State
Arkansas State
New Mexico State
West Texas A&M
UTRGV
Northern Iowa

MWC adds 2.
North Dakota State
UTEP

MAC adds:
Youngstown State
Illinois State
Indiana State
Southern Illinois

Sun Belt Conference in survival mode:
Jacksonville State
Liberty
Eastern Kentucky
Central Arkansas
McNeese State
Sam Houston State
West Florida or North Florida depending if North Florida adds football.
Jackson State

Yes, exactly.

Glad you're on board that 4:6 is an unbalanced ratio, and that 5:5 is a balanced ratio, by definition of the word balanced. There is no discussion.

Nothing I said was incorrect or disingenuous. But since you have yet to mention specifically what you disagree with, now is your chance.

That's a message board question.

That's not how presidents think. Presidents think in terms of risk aversion. As in the ILL St president saying "well, if we lose both Wichita and MO St ... why do I want to send all of my teams out to Kansas City, and not get another football team to replace MSU??", for hypothetical example.
