Yeah there was 30K sold/distributed. A lot of people like myself did not care to drive 3 hours to watch that and arrive home at 2-3am.
Ecu got my $, but not 10-12 hours of my life today.

Now, maybe some ECU fans can understand some of the very low Memphis crowds that a portion of the ECU fans gave us such a hard time about in the Porter years.

I never would have thought that ECU fans would stay away from games, but it is understandable when the team is difficult to watch and the weather isn't good.

I'm not being critical at all, only stating that declining attendance is understandable when the team has been "rebuilding" for a long run of seasons.

Finally, I'm confident that ECU will get it all together in the next few years; the Pirates history and large fan base demand a return to strength.

Watching NIU game tonite. There is NOBODY in the stands. Literally less than 10 people other than the band which is all sitting together to keep warm.

Did you realize at 8:41 EST, after coming back from a commercial break, ESPN accidentally showed the whole stadium, then they went dark for a second or two? They then went to a extreme close up of the student section. ESPN is doing everything it can to not show the attendance, or lack thereof.

I think they do this, because they realize that they are part of the reason for a lack of attendance at the G5 level.

Yea, very sad. I saw that as well. MACTION has killed attendance. The Presidents of the MAC schools, sold out for basically nothing.

Ucf will be a sell out on ABC next week.

The ECU fan base is in disarray. Fans, Pirate Club members, season ticket holders are staying away in anger.

The anger is primarily directed at the AD, Jeff Compher, who was inexplicably given a 5 year extension just this year. Compher's support of Lebo is another big issue. Almost as much anger is directed at the BOT, who extended Compher and seem out of touch with everyone. No one likes Chancellor Cecil Staton, aka Beth Merkleson, appointed just last year. He is a North Carolina outsider and is clueless about what football and athletics mean to ECU. Very little animosity is directed at Coach Mo. He seems like a nice guy who is trying hard, but had no head coaching experience and should never have been hired.
The fan base is split. One side believes boycotting games and withholding support is the only way to effect change. The other believes that withholding support will make it impossible to buy out contracts and make new hires, thus keeping the status quo. Unfortunately, both sides are right. This mess could take years to fix.
I wish I had your optimism. This is not fans staying away due to rebuilding. It is disgust. It is an open revolt. We need a coup d'état.

Just wondering out loud, would it be at all possible for the Lightning and the NHL to not Schedule a home game EVERYTIME the Bulls play at home. The seasons only overlap 3 USF games.

There's over 35k there. Not great by any stretch of the imagination but not bad considering that the sky is about to open up.

I really felt bad for Quinton Flowers. Kid has been through a ton of bad sh@t, and basically had no family with him for Senior Night. Good player, and seems like a good kid. Wish him the best, except against UCF....
