Last time I checked good teams win games, one way or another.
Not if you're App State. If we don't win by multiple TD's some of our fans think we stink.

There are some in our fan base who are looking for any excuse to be miserable, and I don't get it.
Neither do I. They are also probably the ones leaving at halftime.

I think they're more likely the ones that aren't showing up at all.

So the SB doesn't have tiebreakers? Everyone that ends up tied for 1st wins a portion of the championship regardless if they lost head-to-head? Asking for a friend.

Correct.... however if GSU and Troy end up sharing I’ll remind you of your 31-10 loss 03-drunk

Yep. Though this will be the last year that this can happen in the SBC. Tiebreaks become an actual thing next year whenever the league starts a CCG.

We're probably looking at a 2 way tie this year. We know one of AState/Troy is going to lose and ditto for one of App/GSU. Its possible that we could have a solo champ, but that involves a bunch of crazy stuff happening.

Looking forward to next year with a "real" championship game, except that it's not a neutral site game.

It shouldn’t be neutral. Big waste of money at that point.

You also don’t have to travel. Most everyone else would need travel and lodging on top of the $100 ticket plus the upcoming bowl expenses if they want to do both.

Makes no sense for a G5 to have a neutral site title game.

True, the additional costs may accumulate but the visiting crowd would have to travel anyway. I'd still prefer a neutral site for impartiality. It doesn't have to be in Atlanta but I bet the players and fans would have a great time in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta has some cheap 3, 4 star hotels for maybe $45-75 because there are simply too many hotels in the area.

There needs to be some benefit for the top team as well.

If we do neutral site, Birmingham seems pretty fair for everyone. But I agree with others- I think the top team should be rewarded with the home crowd. Empty CCG are a bad look on TV.

Sounds like a great idea for the league's bottom line. Pay a gazillion dollars to rent a facility for a football game that 10 people might attend.

Plus, isn't that stadium sort of occupied that weekend?

True, but I think you are underestimating visiting crowds. The truth of the matter is that Sun Belt fans are not going to travel to watch a conference title game when they'll be asked to travel again two weeks later for a bowl.
