Charlotte Needs a Nasty Winning Football Coach Nobody Wants, Or do they
Charlotte 49ers (Cougars) (Golden Tornadoes)
Who is our Frank Solich, When can we find our Bobby Petrino, where can we find our Terry Bowden? You know, a winning coach that made a dumb mistake and is or was begging for a second chance more than all the money in Ft Knox.
A coach that is a proven winner that knows the next mistake is his last. A coach who has successful SEC heading coaching experience, Why not reach out to Hugh Freeze and send a message to the Carolina(s) and CUSA and let them know we are serious about college football.

Because we aren't and we won't be until we have new leadership that values winning.

Frank Solich is really not a "nasty" guy...
You want former "Big" college names?
-Bo Pelini (former Nebraska HC, current HC, Youngstown St)
-Greg Schiano (former Rutgers and Tampa Bay Bucs HC, current DC, Ohio State)
-Tom Bradley (former DC, Penn State, current ?)
-Jim Leavitt (former HC, South Florida)
-Todd Graham (former HC, Arizona State, Pittsburgh)
But they all have baggage.

He'd probably want more money than is in Fort Knox.

Some of those guys are making large bank as assistants. Leavitt makes more now than when he was HC at USF. Joker Phillips is a guy who never rebounded from getting booted at UK. He's only making about $250,000 these days after making $1.7MM as UK HC.

Yep, as it is now our AD wants football to be equal to softball. Until that nonsense changes we will continue to suck.

True enough... The salary only tells part of the picture, though. Some of these guys might well take a HC job to get back into the show as a Head Coach. Schiano, for example. Pelini might be happy getting another shot at FBS. (And you want "nasty"??? He fits that bill on so many levels...) Others, like Bradley, probably have no other shot at getting a HC job. (He's pretty well tarred with the Penn State/Sandusky thing...)
The Brileses might also fit the bill. I know people still throw Kendall Briles' name out there, but if a high-profile program hires him, the outrage about the Baylor situation will be intense.
I hadn't thought about Joker Phillips...in no small part because I'm pretty happy with him at Cincinnati.

An absolute legend! I was happy to see the recognition he received at our bowl game on Tuesday. He'll always be the father of our program. Lane can be the drunk uncle.

he keeps busy doing odd jobs for the football program he started. All he has to do is show his face once or twice a year and he gets treated like royalty.

Mark Mangino is another guy that has never got another chance. What he done at Kansas, I have never understood why someone doesn't give him a shot. I mean he took freakin Kansas to the Orange Bowl.

I just want someone to say after Charlotte beats them, "we just flat got out coached today".
I've seen it twice. For sixty minutes in Hattiesburg in 2016 and for one play against UAB in 2017.

He hasn't died from a heart attack yet?
Best I can find, he is currently out of coaching since the end of 2015.
