SU (9-6) ends OOC vs UC-Riverside on the 30th, who Utah Valley beat tonight.
Actually the WAC standings shows Seattle U. with 10 wins currently.
Unless GCU can make a major statement this weekend against Illinois, I see the final OOC records playing out as the following.
New Mexico State... 13-3... assuming a win over D2 Northern New Mexico
Grand Canyon... 11-5... assuming a loss to Illinois and a win over D2 William Jessup.
Utah Valley... 11-5... assuming a win over Cal State Fullerton
Seattle U... 11-6... assuming a win over UC Riverside
UT Rio Grande Valley... 9-8 assuming a win over Hampton and wins over D2 Our Lady of the Lake and Wayland Baptist.
Cal State Bakersfield... 7-8
UM Kansas City... 6-11... assuming a win over USC Upstate and a win over D2 William Jewell.
Chicago State... 2-15... assuming a loss to Western Michigan
Keep in mind this accounts for division 2 games (wins) being played out during the conference portion of the season.
That means as many as four schools have a realistic chance at 20-plus wins. UTRGV could get to 20 wins but they will need to defend their home court (3 losses) much better than presently. Also, CSUB has a slim chance at 20 wins but they would need to go on a tear through the WAC... and WAC tournament; needing 13 wins out of a possible 17 games.
"If" NMSU can go 12-2 through the WAC regular season and run the table in the WAC tournament, Jans has an opportunity to match Weir's season record of 28 wins; accomplished last season.
