Nice to be mentioned but I hate we are on that list.

Question: are practices open, generally? If so, has anybody on here been out the to watch. Would be interested to hear someone’s firsthand take. I’m sure there will be a story or two next week leading up to the spring game but that will all be coachspeak.

It is a sad time when the article notes we are seeking an upset over Elon. I cringed when I read it, and I am cringing as I type. The Elon home loss will forever be etched in my mind.

RE: Spring Game 2018
Probably unlikely, but anyone think we'll have a starting QB named coming out of the game?

I think it will be a tight competition between Battle and Mitchell.

I bet we aren't even down to two yet.

Rumor has (3) viables-Hefter, Battle and Mitchell. Supposedly Hefter is having a strong spring

Hefter looked very good in the spring game last year. He was Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year this past year which benefits him in many ways. It's easy to forget about the players we didn't see in-game last year, the spring game is a great reminder.

Hopefully someone puts on a show Saturday and gives us something to talk about.

Tribe RB Noah Giles tore his ACL earlier this month in a non-contact drill. Seems unlikely he would play in the fall.

W&M FB coach Jimmye Laycock says sophomores Shon Mitchell and Ted Hefter are neck and neck for the starting quarterback spot as spring practice winds down.

That sucks about Giles. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

Look forward to seeing what Mitchell and Hefter have in the spring game.

Note that game starts at 1:30...not the usual 1 PM. Parking will be exceptionally difficult: it is also the College's annual Traditions Alumni Weekend with many special Alum events around campus with returning alums jamming all lots.

The CNN staff also get in town on Friday, which will make parking even worse.

Spring Game 2018
Looks like Mitchell is the QB1. For whatever that is worth.

Our OL is a work in progress. Hilland and Durant will be hard to replace.

Couple of starters out. On the upside, others get experience.
Defense still young, but look for them to be solid this year.

Hefter has looked like the best QB so far to me. Making smart reads quickly.

RE: Spring Game 2018
Amonyae Watson and Nick Muse look really good.
WR Armstrong was a holder on one FG attempt.
I like Mitchell as our #1 QB.

RE: Spring Game 2018
Mitchell played the best from what I could tell. Battle played well also as did Hefter and Rotger. We are loaded at RB. Anderson had a really strong game running and on pass routes. Wright runs very hard. Christian looked good and had two plays where they got him in space and you could see the speed. Kicking was not great, but Hooper's leg looks better than last year. I was very happy with the play of the safeties.

Offense looked far more complex than last year in the regular season which baffles me given it was the spring game. It really looked like they were trying to isolate players. It could have been base defense also.
