I absolutely agree with you that that was not said to Tubby when he was hired nor did I say it was. I said that that was a part of the decision on why the administration "wanted" to hire him. I also said they expect him to get back to the NCAAs while raising the reputation of the program on multiple fronts.

I don’t feel like looking back right now but someone said exactly that which is crazy. Yes the admin wanted a coach who was clean, most do. But I’m sure they also expected him to win big as well. Also, don't kid yourself about most admins and boosters caring about a "clean" program. They care about a "dont get caught" program. Unfortunately, at the time of the hire, we needed more than that.

There is a clear Tier 1 of WSU and Cinci.

UCF is a low Tier 2.

I see Tier 3(a) as SMU, Tulsa and Houston although I'm banking more on SMU's rep than what they might have on the roster.

Tier 3(b) is Memphis, UConn, and Temple. UConn made it close to 7th with a late addition from the JUCO ranks.

There is no Tier 4.

Tier 5 is Tulane, ECU, and USF.

We are 6BT...but very competitive.
