If you don't want to eat "factory" food, I get it, I was raised on a farm, but just letting a chicken fend for itself isn't any healthier.

There's really no standards for what makes up TRUE organic. Anyone can "claim" so, but it doesn't make it true.

People go to a farmer's market and see all the marketing BS (locally grown, non GMO, organic, etc.) and think they're eating healthy. What they don't get is that farmer A could in fact practice "organic" growing, but that doesn't mean his neighbor does. There's no way to stop spray "drift", run off, and various forms of insects and wildlife from "infecting" those "organic" veggies.

Do I think that people should just stuff whatever down their gullets? No, but I also don't think people should fool themselves into thinking that paying 3X as much for something that may not be better, but has a better marketing slogan, is the way to go either.

i don't really see a whole lot of marketing in farmer's markets. people sorta know what they're getting themselves into

You're standing in a line at the gas station or mini-mart waiting to check out, stacked a half a dozen deep.

The next person up pays for their chocolate milk then proceeds to give the cashier 7 or 8 scratch lottery cards that may or may not be winners. Of course they haven't scratched off enough of the bar code so the cashier has to take care of that. After all is said and done, they "win" $2 then decide they need to buy another scratch ticket and spend the next 5 minutes deciding which one to buy from under the glass. Top top it all off, when they get their new ticket, they decide to scratch it right there on the counter caring nothing for the now 10 people waiting in line. Then after realizing they lost, leave all that scratch crap on the counter for someone else to clean up.

Holy crap - I've never seen it quite that bad, but I've been annoyed just by being behind someone buying several scratch tickets and not being able to decide which ones. After they finally decide, THEN they start fishing around in their pickets for enough $1 bills to pay for them.

the ultimate gear grinder is when they make the attempt to pay with lincoln 'pseudo copper' coinage....

this has easily developed into a daily 'visit' thread.....

well done LS! you created the monster I so enjoy....

There are a few folks who frequent a local gas station that ask the clerk what number the ticket is on each roll... if it is lower than 100, they buy it. They claim there are more winners on tickets 1-100 than 100+. LoL
Nothing like the folks wh o have to get their daily pick three and 4 numbers, which if you are stuck behind them, could go on for 10 minutes, no joke!

ranks up there with waiting 20 mins. in the drive thru, paying 9 bucks for shite food, when one can hit a buffet for the same $$$ amt. and enter/exit in the same time frame...toss in not having the sharts in the next 5 mins., and that's a bang-bang winnah chicken dinnah

Potential customers who are too afraid to tell you they are purchasing another product and continue to string you along.

We have an industrial client we've sold equipment to a couple of different times who has been in the market for some replacement breathing apparatus sets for their internal response team. They've made their decision and placed an order already with a competitor. I know this because the rep handling their order is a friend of mine and he told me. Yet I've already fielded two phone calls today making BS technical inquiries that are answered in both the brochure and the offer packet we submitted to them. I just got off the phone with my boss and reminded him why I hate sales and telling him the next phone call I'm calling their bluff and telling them I know they've already ordered and that their regular salesman is back after back surgery so they can start contacting him instead of me. If they get pissed they aren't a high enough volume customer to worry about anyway.

Between this salesman's surgery and the damned flu this year so far has sucked. I absolutely hate being involved in the deal making part of sales. Just let me go back to writing out the technical specs and delivery training and I'll be happy. If this keeps up I'm going to start picking up cans off the side of the road instead.

That's in the same ballpark as a couple customers our company has.

They throw out the word "partners"..... Until the MINUTE there's a price increase or an issue or they simply don't get their way. Then they get all SHOUTEE, turn into a bully, and start threatening to "pull their business".

Never mind you've provided them great products, prices, and service, for years. It's the whole tough guy act.

It's like pump the brake pal, if you COULD get a better deal, you'd have left already.

I'm retired from the FD.

Work with a former colleague selling public safety equipment now. I'm supposed to only be doing the technical specifications work, some pre-delivery punch list work and some delivery training of new equipment but from time to time I get voluntold to do sales work.

Sometimes it's worth it. A couple of years ago around this time my boss was going on a cruise and the manufacturer was doing a large demonstration of hazmat equipment so I was asked to go help and to handle the initial part of any future sales. The manufacturer's rep paid for the entire trip and even suggested that I call my wife to come down and hang out with us in Beaufort. We ended up with a couple industrial sales that netted me a pretty good commission.

Most times it's not worth it because I hate doing the entire song and dance involved in sales, especially when it's dealing with private industry. Government is so much more straightforward because I used to work on the other side I am familiar with how government purchasing laws work.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but it bothers me when drivers are disrespectful towards funeral processions.

People in check out lines. If your buggy is empty, swing it around to the end of the turnstile and load up your groceries. While you're at it take those two kids of yours that are mesmerized by their smart phone and have them load up the groceries so you can pay and be on the way. Experienced this tonight. Two people ahead of me same issue. Then when it was my turn tried to put my buggy at the end of the turnstile, and be damned if the two women, with buggies, groceries, and kids weren't blocking my way and BS-ing with an employee. And then looked at me like I was an a$$hole after the third excuse me, when I said, move this miserable piece of sh!t and let me load my damn food up.

OMG yes.

From that same school.

People who take a full cart thru the self-checkout lanes creating a back up for those of us with a dozen items. To make matters worse, they have no fricking clue how to punch in the code for their muskmelon or head of lettuce so they sit there with a dumb look on their face until help arrives.

Listen people. The IDEA behind self checkout is to keep people purchase their goods in a fast, efficient manner. It WASN'T designed for people with carts of food. If you have THAT much, go thru a regular lane and save the self checkouts for people with less items and those that KNOW what they're doing.

Grocery stores with 40 checkout lanes and only 3 open, so every time you go you have to wait in line even when there are hardly any people in there. I swear, if there are fewer than 3 people in line they close a register.

you'd be amazed (no you wouldn't) how many get paid to sit in the break room most of the day at wally-world....

my daughter had a purse recovered that was stolen a few years ago...I walk into their break room looking for the manager that called me, and there wasn't an empty seat in the room....it was ~50 bodies

before I said a word, I literally laughed out loud at 'deer in the headlights' staring at the big crazy white man.....they had zero clue why I was laughing at lazy fk'rs

it's like when I hear spanglsh or indefinable ebonics......I simply can't hold back the laughter....

I'll always be the #sadist at times.....

Drove by the gas station the other night and noticed the gas was $2.28/gallon (but the station on the other side of the intersection was $2.59/gallon. I had the wife's car but knew my car was low on fuel. I only live a couple miles from the gas station so I dropped her car and picked mine up to fill it. Drove back and noticed the sign was still $2.28. When I pulled up to the pump it still read $2.28. Once I reached out for the pump it switched up to $2.59.

Joe Pags grinds my gears. He is, by far and without any competition, the worst conservative radio host in America.

I'd rather listen to this absolutely crazy lady (https://www.oneplace.com/ministries/unde...the-times/) than Joe Pags.
