Have you seen the video of him shooting the rifle at the range with the added theatrics?

He should be ******* embarrassed
I actually never saw the segment. That is ridiculous. He's not even holding it correctly. Good grief. Everything about that segment is dishonest. Saying that the AR15 is the gun that came before is misleading. The purpose of saying that is to give the inference that the AR15 actually was a duty rifle of the military. He should really be embarrassed of himself.

"The truth of the matter is they look almost exactly the same"
So it's about looks
"If I wanted to fire this on "full semi-automatic""
No such thing, but it 'sounds' scary
"I've seen soldiers hit by this weapon"
On what battle field did you see the civilian AR15 deployed?
See if you can spot the critical errors in this passage from Illinois Representative Crespo's letter.
Quote:It is clear that we must crack down on deadly, military-style assault rifles, which is why I voted to pass Senate Bill 1657, which holds gun dealers accountable by ensuring dangerous criminals and those with a history of mental illness or domestic violence cannot get their hands on a weapon,” Illinois State Representative Fred Crespo claimed in a letter to constituents. “I also support House Bill 1469, which would prohibit the sale and possession of high capacity magazines which turn regular firearms into fully automatic weapons

That would be quite a trick - If we could actually invent that and patent it we would be rich!
Wouldn't that be akin do not pushing in the clutch on a car and just slamming the stick into gears - oh yea - and NOT turning the car into an automatic either

Worst yet the do it as if they know what the heck they're talking about. If you listen to them anyone with half a brain thinks they're experts in the field of weaponry. LOL

That was the obvious error, but there was another one that was just as egregious.

Ooooohhhh you mean this part "Senate Bill 1657, which holds gun dealers accountable by ensuring dangerous criminals and those with a history of mental illness or domestic violence cannot get their hands on a weapon"
The bill is about licensing to sell and only about licensing to sell. There is nothing in there about holding anyone accountable for anything except having a license to sell.
Maybe there should be an amendment that states Senators should read their f-ing legislation before they talk about it and look stupid!

Close.
This is what I'm talking about:
which holds gun dealers accountable by ensuring dangerous criminals and those with a history of mental illness or domestic violence cannot get their hands on a weapon
Gun dealers haven't been the problem, it's been the failure of the government to do it damned job. Oh, and it's already illegal for gun dealers to sell to known criminals or mental patients so I guess he's trying to make it doubly illegal.

Well, except for the fact that the Second Amendment and resulting legal rulings are pretty clear and the data behind climate science can be interpreted however you want to interpret it.
I'd say the opposite. The interpretation of the second amendment is open for much debate, how the hell are we supposed to have a well armed militia capable of resisting tyranny if we can't have fully automatic weapons? The US military has armed drones and laser guided missiles. Our second amendment rights have already been stomped on and yet an appeals court has already decided that AR-15's aren't constitutionally protected. How the hell can you say there's clarity? Hell its law we're talking about, a contract among fellow citizens. It's very nature is to be debated.
Science on the other hand seeks the discovery of fact. Either the planet is warming or its not (it is), either human activity is contributing to it or it's not (it is). Pretty much all the climate science available points in one direction, to not see that is to be....what's the saying?....willfully ignorant.
LOL
There's very few people out there that deny that the climate is indeed warming.
There's also no absolute proof that man is contributing to it. There's ton of speculation, much of it being pawned off as "settled science", but there's no indisputable proof that confirms it. The facts are we are in a similar warming period as was experienced between 250-400 BC, a time where there were no internal combustion engines to blame.
A mere 10,000 years ago Canada was covered in a sheet of ice over a mile thick. Think about that. 10,000 years is the blink of an eye in geologic terms.
Unfortunately, that mile thick sheet of ice melted leaving behind millions of Canadian liberals like Justin Trudeau.
