Why would WSU deserve $10M? You don't field a football team.

If we are getting $10 million, that means the rest of you would be getting $25 million or more.

You're wrong! We got a good half dozen or so.
But Houston has sports programs that win though. Hasn't it been since CUSA that ECU actually won anything besides an attendance trophy?

If the Big East had accepted the 5-year $13.5-million back in 2012, they'd have maintained more members, be going for 25-million or so now and you wouldn't be here at all.

False. Pitt and Cuse were already out the door and others would have followed regardless.
$25 Mil + in the ACC/Big Ten/Big 12 > $13.5 Mil.
The Catholic 7 had been looking to break off for years. Pitt and Cuse leaving put the plan in motion.

The original deal was 9 years for 1.17 billion offered in March 2011. Syracuse and Pitt announced their departure in September 2011 and although I also heard rumors they were already out the door before the contract refusal, that topic is up for debate (there may have been discussion). What we do know for certain is that the ACC stole the Orange Bowl, VT, Miami, and BC way before the refusal and they probably were going to come back for seconds eventually anyaway; we also know that once the refusal occurred, ESPN told the ACC which teams to poach (as per BC's AD). Additionally, the ACC contract signed in 2010 only paid 13 million per team (1.86 billion for 12 years) at the time this was all going on; it was the Pac 12's new mega deal deal that made the Big East think greedily and refuse ESPN's offer.

I don't get why the marketing team uses #AmericanPow6r, I think it should be #AmericanP6wer
Either way, great to see such a high rating.

I've been wondering that myself... P6 is in P6wer, plus a 6 looks more like an o than it does an e IMO.

My guess is that it blends in when it's capitalized POW6R . I think our minds fill in the blanks and automatically read it as power. Where if it was written the other way people would do a double take and think what the hell is a P6-WER?

Nice demonstration of how the irrelevant the Big East is. Their only hope is that their $10 million per gets them a few national titles so they can negotiate when their contract is up. They’re gonna be paying ESPN $10 million in hopes that ESPN will take them back.

Perhaps, but neither #AMERICANP6WER and #AMERICANPOW6R look particularly good. I hope they change it.

For some reason I had 10 stuck in my head. BJ fans were probably spouting that number off to make their deal with Cartoon Network sound better.
