If everyone that was 1/1024 Native American could claim Indian status we'd all be Indian. My great-great-great-grandmother was Cherokee so that makes me more of an Indian than Warren.

JD, my great great grandmother was a Cherokee and that has zero relevance upon anything today. What it shows is that she isn't fit to be a leader because she pursued a ridiculous claim, got called on it, and didn't laugh it off and move on to something more productive. Leaders don't step in B.S. and then go to the mat over it. They keep their eyes on larger more important objectives and press on.

It's not whether she does or doesn't have native Americans in her bloodline, as a very high percentage of white Americans do. But, rather the issue is, like so many other politicians today, she was easily sidetracked on a no win issue in the first place which calls into question both her judgment and her focus, the absence of which means she doesn't belong in the Senate, let alone the White House.

We don't need our leaders letting themselves get bogged down in petty B.S. Right now IMO that is why Trump rates as well as he does. He laughs at the absurdity of it, and presses on with his agenda. Now you can like him or hate him, but that's a leader. I hated Johnson, but he was a leader.

In truth, we learn, it’s possible that Warren’s great-great-great grandmother was partially Native American. This would make her around 1/32nd American Indian, a far cry from any reasonable threshold to embrace minority status for a job. That’s exactly what she did starting in the 1990s, before walking back her claims when it became politically expedient.

Then again, being 1/32 (and really, the math says 1/64th) Native American is the high-end possibility. It is just as possible that Warren 1/1,024th Native American. (The story intially claimed it was 1/512th.) So maybe her great-great-great-great grandmother was part Cherokee.
