You do realize the going rate for buy games is over $1 million these days...right???
Memphis will play at Purdue next year for I believe 800k so apparently it’s not...
Damn, we got $1,400,000 from Michigan and a h/h in basketball

Tulsa is getting 1.7 million from Michigan St, no h/h for basketball though. We should have pushed for it, I'm sure we at least brought it up. The more you can hang on a buy game or 2-1 the better the crap sandwich is.

We are going to do a buy game every other year. Money for program and away chances for alums.

Our AD said about a month ago that it is becoming increasingly difficult to schedule P5 team home-and-homes and that two for ones were now on the table. P5 teams don't need us they already have an interesting schedule for their fans and truck loads of money. For example, Florida doesn't need UCF on their schedule but UCF would benefit greatly from having Florida on theirs. Yet UCF fails to recognize this and the current realities --- so where are they now? Well one thing without Florida on their schedule and without the money that would have been brought in. Not the decision I would have made.
What money?!?!? UF said that any deal to play UCF would have to be similar to the deal UF sighed with USF...which was a crap deal that paid USF very little money compared to the going rate for buy games.
UCF's profit on home games is 2X what USF is getting paid for the 3rd game of the UF series.
USF will net about $500K for driving 2 hours. In return we get a home game that we will NET over $3 million.
UCF does generate a lot of revenue off home games, but you also have quite the debt service too. Your revenue off a home game is around $3.5 million but after debt service, operating fees and such you dont net that $3.5 milion.
We took the 2-1 with UF because they are the last Florida team we havent beat. No other school outside the power 3 can say that and we now have that chance.
So ya, you will profit more than double what we will. But we will make bank on the return trip... and get a shot at making history.
I don't know where this low iq trope came from, but this is just patently false.
In 2016-2017 UCF had $8.1mm more in expenses than USF. For that year, that's only $1.35mm more per home football game than USF, but that's only assuming all those costs came from football.
UCF is still paying off the basketball arena, USF built theirs in the 70's for $12mm...
UCF pays their coaching staff $4.8mm for football. USF pays their football coaching staff $2.6mm in the same year (2018)
UCF pays Johnny Dawkins $1.5mm in 2018 (just got an unnamed raise and extension). USF pays Brian Gregory $6.58mm over 6 years ($1.096mm).
Right off the bat there's a $2.6mm gap in costs between USF and UCF, just for coaching, tack on payments for the Arena, and the constant upgrades we are doing on property THAT WE OWN and I can't even begin to imagine how much more UCF pays than USF, let alone for all of our other coaches (Baseball, W Basketball, etc..).
But let's take the difference we do know immediately?
$8.1mm - $2.6mm = $5.5mm more in expenses. That comes out to less than $.92mm more in operating expenses per home game. An absolute pittance.
And to add on to all of this, though I'm sure you've stopped reading by now, Danny White has already stated UCF makes ~$3mm per game AFTER costs. INCLUDING operating costs.
So why don't you go peddle your fake news somewhere else.
*All my sources from USA Today financial report for NCAA 2016-2017 seasons, and AP news releases on coaches salaries in the 2018 season.
Does this include the $14 million cost for repairs to fix "immediate life safety concerns" in your 10 year old "rusted and corroded" on campus stadium?
Quote:In Orlando Weekly's opinion, Druckenmiller came bearing truth.
Then the predictable happened: The UCF Twitter trolls – the equivalent of a Biblical locust plague – came out from underneath the woodwork to show their true colors as a classless clan of knuckle-dragging misfits.
Look, I hate UCF about as much or more than anyone in this conference. But that article by the Orlando Weekly is pure trash. It sounds like Druckmiller got his male escort lover to defend him against those meannie bully UCF fans.... WAAAAA...

Is this related to the fact that we've won 11 in a row in football over Memphis?

Somewhat. It has more to do with how we had you beaten several times in the past couple of years only to Coug-it coming down the stretch of the 4th. In a series where we win some, we lose some? That's not a big deal. In a series where we've never won ANY of them? It pisses me off royally.
