Todge, You post very long posts, but I agree with you. More than two from the same state (or two that are in the same Metro) is a waste and they add nothing to the conference. Give me a regional conference with a small footprint without overdoing the number of schools per state (no more than 2 from Texas, LA or AL) and I'd be happy with that. I like something like this:

Rice, UNT, LaTech, USM, UAB, ASU, MTSU, WKU, GSU (Troy, GA So or ULL are also fine if any of the others aren't interested).

I want to stay with Marshall. I love hating Marshall basketball, and I always pull for Marshall against everyone but us, even in basketball, where I detest Marshall!

Right back at ya Noodles! I would wish to stay with USM and UAB.

So Miss and UAB are the only schools where I would be extremely pissed to lose.

I like some of the other schools but I'm already not happy about you guys moving to the West division. That's bad enough.

Wish we could play So Miss and UAB every year.

I understand why they did it. On an 8-game conf. schedule, having 1 permanent crossover means you’d play the other 6 teams just once every 6 years. Not that I’d mind, but I see why the league didn’t want that. Plus, that’d mean 1 eastern team playing UTEP every year. Not happening.

Marshall and So Miss should have remained as the permanent cross over opponents. Even if no one else in the conference has permanent cross over games.

Oh well, guess we will just have to play you all in the conference championship game this year.
